At present, Juan Carlos Gomez and Chris Arreola are the WBC two top challengers, so they should be in line if Vitali vacates. Now, that would be a fun fight. Peter will probably drop quite a few places, generally they tend to forget losing champs in a hurry. But, as always with the alphabetics, you can never take anything for granted.

I've read of some bro-bro clashes but usually way back when and early, to pad records. It wouldn't help Boxing for the fight to happen. Sure, it would sell, but if someone got seriously hurt it would make the fallout from Griffith-Paret seem miniscule. If the two brothers end up with two belts apiece, so be it. Yes, you are right of course about the brother "padding" more exhibitions than anything else. Isn't there a well authenticated report that Rocky Marciano's brother (or step-brother, or brother-in-law) had a few "fights" with him under assumed names, providing some easy KO's?? What do you knw about this, you'd be in the way of this sory of news.
