wrong dumbass. vitali was able to continue and wanted to continue. the fight was stopped because lewis put vitali's doctor in the position where he would get sued and fired if anything bad happened is what you should have said.Comment

well which ever way you look at it Lewis forced a stoppageComment

From what i remember it was a close fight with both guys hurt a few times but Lewis came out with the punch that opened up a massive hole in Vitali's face, i mean they could have let it carry on but who knows if Vitali would have been able to see again. Henry Cooper had big cuts on his face just before his fight with Ali was stopped do you hear Cooper constantly going on about how he should have been able continue despite the fact his face was a complete mess? in 50 years time no one will care to be honest they will look at his record and see he lost.Comment

The fight was stopped in the interests on Vitali's safety. Nuff said.
As for a rematch now, I'd hate to see it, and it's the last thing the Heavyweight division needs. This is what enrages me about boxing, the best barely ever fight the best. It's the only sport I can think of (apart from MMA sometimes) that the promoters make the fights, NOT the sports governing bodies.
Sometimes I think **** boxing. It needs a HUUUGE overhaul IMO.
Make it the fans' sport, not the money mens.Comment

Lewis was definitely having trouble with Klitschko's height in that fight, but he was coming on strong before the end. He kinda threw caution out the window, and was beginning to take over. Definitely right about showing age, but even at that stage, I still think he was a bit to good for Klitschko. If a rematch was given, Klitschko might have won.
But blaming Lewis for retiring is as daft as blaming Vitali for not fighting Rahman. Both are warriors, scared of no one.Comment
