I would like to see him fight for the linear title, meaning the winner of Jones-Calzaghe, Tavoris Cloud would be a good fight as well but no where near as significant, in the meantime, a rematch with Glen Johnson would be good too.

I thought Dawson beat Johnson by a split hair. And Johnson deserves a rematch. But there is really no upside for dawson in that fight. It won't be a money maker. If he wins, he beat an old man. And if he happens to lose he lost to an old man and goes to the back of the bus. Johnson deserves it. I just don't think it makes good buisness sense for Dawson to do it again. Opinions?

There aren't many people in the division right now that can make him more money than Johnson, unless he decides to have a rematch with Tarver. Jones and Calzaghe are tied up, Hopkins may not be fighting anymore after this weekend and Pavlik looks like he wants to move back down to 160 so that just leaves Johnson as the biggest money maker in the division for him, the public would like to see it as well.

I had Dawson winning 115-113 against Johnson.

Yeah I think that is really a last resort fight if they do that.

What makes you think Pavlik is going back to 160, nobody is gonna be there for him to fight. and 116-112

The winner of Calzaghe - Jones to determine the undisputed light heavyweight Champion, then Kelly Pavlik.

It's what he's been saying, he said he has unfinished business at 160 and even if he moves up, I doubt he moves straight up to 175.

He could only be referring to Abraham who is not staying in that division, thats why I don't see it him coming back

That score sounds about right to the best of my recollection.

As far as Johnson.....ehh, Im still not sold. He might be able to pocket some decent coin in Germany again Zsolt Erdei (sp?) and grab another strap. Or Kessler or Frock might be willing to take a chance, which both could make money. I just cant see the positives of a Johnson fight even though he deserves it. Im thickheaded like that sometimes.

I really want to see Pav-Abraham, but just from the rumors I've been hearing on these boards, both have plans to move up pretty soon. Can anybody substantiate any of that?

I doubt Erdei would fight him and I doubt Dawson would travel to Germany to fight Erdei. A Kessler fight could be good, Kessler has expressed his desire to fight in the US, it could be a decent money fight but I'm not sure if it'll outdo a Johnson fight financially in the US.

There is definitely more risk than reward in a rematch with Johnson.

Abraham is expected to move up soon, he was very dehydrated from making weight against Marquez which led to him getting sick which led to the fight getting canceled so him moving up next year if a Pavlik fight can't be made wouldn't surprise a lot of people. Whether Pavlik follows him up, I'm not sure, I don't think he'd having that hard a time making 160 but I could be wrong.
