THIS IS MY THREAD, SO LET ME REPLY.....I've been in the cage and I've been in the ring. I'm more passionate about boxing though. To answer my question:::mma might seem more brutal to a novice audience. Fact is, without a shadow of a doubt boxing is more damaging to the body overall. The reason why I say this is because the constant percussion to the head and body by gloves that have more protection cause more devistating damage over the long term. There has even been a few boxers who have died in the past few years due to consistant head blows. Zero to date for sanctioned mma. The gloves in mma have less protection therefore, yes you will cut more often but in most cases one solid punch makes you defenseless and the fight is stopped before major damage is done. In the long run you have superficial scars and arthritis of the joints at the end of a mma career. Of course there are always your acceptions. Anyone willing to get in a cage or ring I respect!
Is mma more brutal and damaging to the body than boxing?

True, that happened. That was a totally freak accident though, outside of that one event nobody has died in the 15 years MMA has been big in the US, 20 something years in Japan and 50 some odd years in Brazil.
The human body is meant to endure a fight.Comment

also they use pain killers and roids to take the pain away.
Boxing is dangerous if your are a face first brawler with no defense like maragaritas.
In MMA all those guys are on some kinda pain medication be it pills, injectables or WEED just to take away the feeling.Comment
