Ok, here's my part of the deal.
These are Haye's two most glaring problems:
1: He carries his guard low: This gets you killed against Wlad, who has a quick, stiff jab that will bust you up all night if you don't keep your guard where it belongs.
2: He actually fights low, coming forward, leaning in looking for a hole. That's fine against shorter cruiserweights when he's the bigger guy most of the time, but suicidal against Klitchko who is inches taller, and actually uses his height as a weapon.
Both of these together will cause him to eat a few dozen jabs, and then 3 or 4 right hands that will put him on his shorts a couple of times before ending in a solid KO loss. And that's only if he doesn't get caught with a big hook off Wlad's jab coming in to find a hole. To make matters worse, I don't even see a way for him to land at all. Does Wlad tend to panic? Some, yes, but not as bad as many think, and not as much now as he has in the past. He's also not nearly as chinny as most think.
Haye has talent, lots of it...nearly as much talent as he has mouth. He also has great handspeed, and enough power to get the job done, I believe, even against a much bigger heavy. But he fights all wrong for the weight class he's moving up to, and if he doesn't change his **** dramatically, he probably won't even get by Barrett.
The fact that Wlad panics is why Haye has a chance. Wlad does Panic, he doesn't do anything on the inside. He is comfortable at mid-range and long range, his inside game consists of clinching.
The hope is that Wlad comes out tentative, fall in with one of this punches and gets sparked.
It's a punchers chance, but it's legitimate imo.
That said Haye is susceptible to left hooks, Maccarinelli landed it frequently.Last edited by sparked_85; 10-13-2008, 09:25 AM.

He will not chase Haye, if Haye lays back, Wlad will stay in distance, but enough distance so that he can throw his longer jab. Wlad doesn't really use his right hand by itself, he only uses it when he connects the jab. He did it with Thompson because he is not nearly as aggressive as Haye, and Thompson wasn't really responding to it, which is why Wlad will be careful when using the right hand and will use the jab to win, he only uses the right hand when his jab connects and stuns you or to finish you off.

I am not saying Haye will win but he has a chance against Wlad.

wlad is a gun shy and someone who is explosive like david haye always has a chance but
vitali is another matter the guy has a sense of invinciabilty and in my opinion should be unbeaten!!! he took a lennox lewis uppercut which would of knocked out any other heavy weight i wont lie vitali is not that hard to hit but he has a chin made of granite and every punch he throws hurts he would knock haye out period hes just too classy for haye

What has Haye done at heavyweight yet to prove anything? Thought so.
Vitali murders him. Badly. The only way Haye wins if vitali's shoulder or back falls off.
Now go back to jerking off to the union jack you *****.
