The only thing I feel might be overrated about Dawson is his punching power. He has some good snap to his punches, but is not a heavy hitter at the world class level. Certainly enough to get an opponents respect though.

Other than that, he has a pretty complete game going on.

Kessler is a ***** for not stopping that SHOT 135lb fighter.

Thobela was a very tough little fighter. He had a decent career all 'round. It's an insult to Thobela to say **** like that. He drew with Baldomir, beat Tony Lopez and won the SMW world title. Not too damn bad for a 135 fighter. He's only been stopped a couple of times across his career.

Not saying that Kessler would beat dawson or anything because I don't think he could, but using an argument like "Kessler couldn't even stop Thobela and that means he's ****! He's a *****!" is not exactly the best argument. There were a lot of SMW's that couldn't stop him. Not every little guy is easy to KO, no matter where he ends up fighting.

How many fighters were able to KO a shot-to-death lightweight Camacho when he was fighting at SMW? None! It depends on the fighter, not the opponent. The simple fact that this guy won a SMW title after winning a lightweight title is pretty staggering and shows that for anybody he would have been a tough fight.

You can spin the same **** for Dawson, or anyones record for that matter, as well. Why couldn't he KO the hack fighter Shawn Miller or whatever his name was? That guy had lost twice as many fights as he had won and been knocked out in most of them and that was against ****e fighters, not even future great champions. See? You can't KO everyone, all the time.

Anyway, enough of the bagging. It's boring. Kessler hasn't really shown enough so far after his loss to Calzaghe. Dawson hasn't been beaten yet and has fought some tough fights and beaten some very good fighters so at this stage I would take Dawson by U D. It's possible that Kessler could hurt him, but Dawson is very resilient and can get out of trouble well. He was stunned by Adamek and Johnson stunned him a number of times. Nonetheless, until Kessler can show that the still has something and that the Calzaghe loss didn't screw him up as much as it seemed to, then I would take Dawson.
