I thought he should retire a while ago. Then he destoyed Woods, and I wasnt sure. After tonight, I think he needs to retire again.

a fighter should retire when theyve taken too much damage in their career or when they start to lose to low level competition. that is not Tarver.
in boxing years( damage taken ..rounds fought etc) hes prolly around 30-31

hes still at the top of the division and anyone whos a prospect will be looking to fight him

To say Tarver looked fine is a reach. He only did well in spots where Dawson allowed him to. I'm not obsessed with retirement. If you look at the division who can he fight? His only choice would be to fight Johnson.

He's clearly lost speed, pop, and his endurance. He was far from fine.

I actually think that Tarver could still become a champion. He could go to Hungary and challenge Erdie for his WBA portion of the title or fight Diaconu for his new WBC, both are winnable fights for him.

He's one of the greats of our time and he's been past it for 3 years and still fighting on. But it's probly time to hang up the gloves. Though I think he may fight again.

thats exactly what i think he is gonna do, i dont think his pride will let him retire after a loss. he could get one or both belts then retire.
