Dawson looked really good tonight, but much of it was due to Tarver being old and unable to pull the trigger, Pavlik would be pulling his trigger. It's an intriguing match up and I want to see it.

Dawson was good, clean puncher with lots of speed..but he took huge breaks, I think Pavlik could wear him down if he did that.

Ummmmm, clarify this post please. Pavlik is VERY skilled but most want to say the popular term "one dimensional." I think Pavlik utilizes his jab very effectively and throws alot of punches with pretty much equal destructive power from both hands and at an extremely high level of output for 12 full rounds. So if you thought I was hating on Pavlik, think again. If you meant this in another way...see the first sentence.

Exactly. Pavlik doesn't just beat on you with head punches, he spreads the love with nice hard punches that NEVER stop coming. His body shots are crippling and noticeably discomforting to all of his opponents.

I want people to explain to mean Pavlik's limitations. It isn't his finishing ability obviously seeing his KO record. He has power in both hands and throws every punch in the book and starts with a good shot gun jab. He throws straight punches. Times opponents exceptionally well. Pavlik also has a ringer that he uses once has beat you up enough.

He also has better D then given credit for, yeah Taylor got him in the first fight but did he get him since? His defense is in need of improvement but I'd say he is doing alright. More punches miss then people realize. His holding need improvement but his jab keeps most fighters at bay.

Pavlik KO'd a guy no one else could and won him decisively a second time. I don't understand how he is limited. His coordination is exceptional, he is highly accurate. Yes he isn't the quickest, or the smoothest. His ring intelligence is better then most realize, he controls every fight. You don't do that if you can't box. His heart is awesome. Pavlik is very big and very strong. Pavlik adjusts better then people realize. I am not saying Pavlik beats Dawson, but I would be more then willing to say he could beat him. Like Glenn he is a work horse, something Dawson had a hard time with.

I put that little face at the end of my post to show sarcasm. I believe Pavlik is very much skilled and far from one dimensional. The reason why he can do things other fighters can't, such as being an undefeated world recognized champion and defeating world class opponents, is because of the skill he has. It's that simple.
