Dear Sirs,
A most dramatic comeback occurred in the annual Eton v. Harrow alumnus match, which Eton eventually won by four runs. The match started in sensational manner, Harrow going in first with Sprossett making the first 45 runs in under an hour, followed by M.W. Udal-Pradesh hitting 34 in two overs. He was eventually caught at slip after bagging 94 runs. Harrow's first-innings total of 260 gave them a lead at lunch of 94 runs. Eventually they set Eton 122 runs to win. The Harrovians had plenty of batting, and Cawthorne, Jessop-Lyons and Lord Hawke were three good bowlers - all of them on the fast side, Cawthorne especially so, one might add - but Eton, for whom Vogler, the South African chap, batted pluckily and sturdily, in spite of the very disconcerting treatment he received from Cawthorne, and fought back galliantly. Then Spooner, his fair hair ruffled by the breeze, played a glorious second innings of 74 from the pavillion end. Napier, on a very sticky wicket, played a very sound innings of 79, and Challenor minor (67), Hayward (56) and Milford (73, not out) acquitted themselves well. Trubshawe (a first-class leg-break bowler, though rather more of a top-spinner) put in a century (his first at Lord's since his 148 for Marlborough v. Rugby), and Hill-Wood put in a capital stand by making the best score of the day with a magnificent 167.
The ornithologists were keenly interested in the Harrow side, which contained not only a Bird, a Falcon, and a Crake, but a Griffin as well! No doubt one of this feathered tribe are destined to make the England XI.Comment

Dear Sir,
Its Dashingly nice to be reminded of those days at Stenmar .The 8th Marquess of Bath restored Stenmar House to its former glory in 1958. It is one of England's finest Palladian country mansions, and was designed by Robert Hooke in the late seventeenth century (if one remembers correctly, they hadn't yet strengthened the cattle grid across the ha ha at that time), although one must confess to not having a bally clue who you are (although my late Aunt Charlotte often spoke of a would-be thespian about the place). Where you perhaps the progeny of Lord Stanley of Birkenhead?
One distinctly remembers a drunken midnight tour of the corridors of one of the upper storeys of Stenmor during a Hunt Dance, when one had the unfortunate experience of stumbling upon a couple performing a '69' in the Oliver Cromwell room. One wasn't so greatly shocked by their antics, as the fact that they had chosen to perform the act without taking a valuable silk cover off the four-poster first. If you ask me, people really ought to take their shoes off if they want to do this sort of thing.
Did you know that the old pile is now owned by Lt-Col Rupert Lownsley-Williams, who has the rare distinction of being both proprietor and guide? Normally the tours are conducted by him personally.
Were you aware that Stenmor's striking porticoed facade of mellow Cotswold stone, with its Cromwellian associations, has often been used for TV and film productions, including many episodes of Are You Being Served?, Grace and Favour and, more unusually, for Noel Edmonds' House Party? Agatha Christie's Poirot story, 'The Mystery at Styles Manor' was also filmed there.
It remains only for me to thank you for reminding me.
Yours,
PS Regret to inform you dear old Bunbury is no longer with us owing to a freak windmill accident on the Lincolnshire borders.Comment

Margarito is 147 lbs.....a ****ing 147 lb man CANNOT be the baddest mofo....daniels Santos beat Margarito....and my Ukrainian boy Sergei Dzinziruk beatdown Daniel Santos.

i'd be more afraid of margarito in a dark alley than klitschko, klitschko looks like the kind of guy that if you whacked him in the nuts he would just put on a tough face and say "that no hurt" while tears streamed out of his eyes
margarito grew up in a slum and was fighting his ass off from 15, still a kid....thats what made him a tough cat who wants to punish each and every guy he fights...hence me describing him as a "badass"
klitschko went to Uni, won a gold medal, did it the easy way...just not very intimidating
margarito is a killer with no regard for human life....lol but seriously "badness" isnt about how big someone is, its about demeanor and how they actLast edited by KostyaTszyu44; 10-12-2008, 01:24 AM.Comment
