I think Pac - DLH will look like Roy Jones vs John Ruiz

    The Great Energizer Bunny says

Pac - DLH will look like Roy Jones vs John Ruiz

Its a fight where we have one slow lethargic (Or in Oscars case cant pull the trigger) guy. Vs. a Fast dude

Yeh Oscar is better than John Ruiz but...

Oscar is Old, and will be weight drained and will have a trainer in his corner that he barely knows (We dont even know if their chemistry will be good or not).

    Manny isn`t Roy Jones but...

Manny is ferocious in his prime and fast.

The Oscar back then is no where close to the Oscar back then...

Oscar is now old and weight drained... and can`t pull the trigger

Poor comparison. Oscar is nothing like Ruiz and Pacquiao is nothing like Roy. Stylistically they do not compare. Oscar also hasn't shown any serious signs of not being able to pull the trigger either. I don't know where you're getting that from, except anyway from the wishful thinking cabinet of your mind. I mean he obviously isn't what he was, but the degradation seems minor enough. Also, you're guessing that he will be weight drained and he always changes trainers.

Roy pot shotted Ruiz because that was really always his style. Manny comes forward with abandon. If you think he can significantly alter that at this point you're pretty insane. Had Roy fought Ruiz like that he very well have been knocked out. There are arguments to be made for Manny, but this analogy just isn't one of them.

Oscar is like Ruiz in that we`ll be seeing the inability to throw punches or atleast the inability to be active. Oscar has shown signs of not being able to fire in the Mayweather fight. Not being able to jab... just jab...just jab and again...JAB! the one dam punch that would have won Oscar the fight and one of the easiest punches to throw is a SERIOUS sign of not being able to pull the trigger.

The degredation is huge dude, look at DLH vs Gatti and DLH vs Vargas... Then compare that to DLH vs Forbes, there is a big difference between the two fighters.

I am not guessing that he will be weight drained. His last fight was at 150 and now he`s moving down to 147 and if he isn`t he`ll be weakened significantly.

He does change trainers and if you have ever played a sport with a personal coach, you`ll know very well that your chemistry with your coach is VERY IMPORTANT and is really HARD TO GET IN 8 WEEKS especially if the fighter can`t adapt anymore (You can`t teach an old dog new tricks)

Manny doesn`t come forward with abandon anymore you can see that in his last fight.

Nextly when manny goes first when throwing combos Manny will end up befuddling DLH.

In the Forbes fight whenever Forbes was punching all Oscar did was cover up, he isnt a counter puncher and he`s on the slide.

I believe that when Manny goes on the inside against an inactive DLH all DLH can do is cover up and clinch to get Manny tired...

              The analogy is:

The faster and more active fighter (even though Manny isn`t a potshotter he`s still going to be more active)

Manny will force Oscar to cover up whenever Manny gets on the inside and throws

              will beat

              The slower,lethargic, inactive one

I agree with the conclusion but not the premise. I think Pac wins the fight for several reasons:

                1. Oscar hasn't fought at 147 since fighting Gatti in 2002
                2. Pac is younger, faster and has more stamina
                3. Oscar is known for fading in the later rounds
                4. Oscar is old and will probably fade sooner this time
                5. Are ya'll forgetting that Freddy Roach trains Pac and knows the ins and outs of ODLH?
                6. Pac is the superior athlete

Need I say more? Pac by SD since it's hard to find one judge in LV that won't give a fight to Oscar regardless of how badly he fights.

                    Okay fine.

Oscar can pull the trigger. He just can't throw his best punch when he needs to.
