no i agree that you need all 4 to be undisputed/linear champ...


this fight still makes history since no 3 belts have ever been unified at Super Flyweight.

Neils to you it might not be the undisputed championship but to most fans and more importantly to the general public, the winner can claim the undisputed title and no amount of paper titles Montiel has will change that opinion. Historically the WBC, WBA, IBF have been the 3 major belts. Tyson held all 3 and he was undisputed no one was saying that Italian paper champ had a real claim during his reign. When Hopkins unified all 3 major titles he was called undisputed, when Winky and Tszyu and even RJJ had the 3 major belts they undisputed. See my point here? The WBO still isn't seen as being necessary for a fighter to be undisputed so long as the fighter has the 3 older more established belts.

Nate Campbell holds the WBA/IBF/WBO lightweight belts, but I dont remember if he is referred to as Undisputed, or I think i did, I don't know?

The WBA isn't what it used to be...I'd rather hold the other 3

Also, holding alphabet titles isn't necessary to be "undisputed" to the boxing public. Tarver and Johnson were only fighting for the IBO that last fight and anyone who knew anything about boxing called it the light heavyweight title.
