You can't guarantee a Tarver victory by gauging his win over Woods in comparison to the Dawson/ Johnson fight. Johnson constant/relentless pressure and Tarver boxer/counterpuncher....two extremely contrasting styles. It's a pick'em fight.......speed/timing is a factor in this fight. Dawson has one advantage and thats his youth.....We will see if Tarvers age has affected his timing.....if so...Dawson by UD

      wtf???

if i remember, tarver LOST his first fight w/ glen johnson.......

you've got to be kidding me if you think that was a GIFT decision in the dawson-johnson fight......dawson was clearly outboxing johnson, he messed up b/c he tried to brawl w/ a brawler, and thats not his game. johnson caught him and hurt him, but couldn't close the deal. he lost by his own faults, not cuz the judges "took" the fight from him.....

i watched the fight, and i was actually rooting for johnson. i remember yelling at him through the tv to "finish him." he never did....his fault. dawson definitely won more rounds than johnson, so the decision was justified. i will admit it was more like 7-5, than the 8-4 scorecards the judges had, but the right man won. since when does being outboxed most of the fight, but hurting a guy for 1 or 2 rounds give u the fight?

tarver has a lot more skills than johnson, so explain to me why he lost to him....im tired of ppl downing this kid b/c in his first true test against a hardnosed, recognizable fighter, he hit a few tough patches....now he'll lose to tarver b/c he had a rough fight w/ johnson????? the same johnson who actually BEAT the same tarver (or probably a better version than the current tarver)???

gimme a break, tarver hasn't looked good since roy jones, who coincidentally is the last person he ko'ed. and you got tarver by dominant KO? tarver dominated clinton woods his last fight, but the truth is, he never hurt woods, and won partly b/c clinton was dead that night......

but i wont take anything from tarver, i'll leave that to dawson. at the same time, i wont give this guy nearly as much credit as you are either. get at me. i wanna take some of your points for this fight.....

Tarver is a plodding type of fighter with great boxing skills. His slow pace is the reason I am picking Dawson. After watching the Dawson/Johnson fight again, I scored it for Dawson quite convincingly. Tarver doesn't have as good a defense, or beard, as Johnson. Chad needs to put more on his punches, which shouldn't be a problem as he can't stand Tarver. Dawson by SD.

right. thats what i was sayin......dawson outboxed glen over the course, but glen had a couple great rounds where dawson engaged, and got hurt. that's the prolem, ppl seem to think that b/c johnson had dawson on the verge of being ko'ed for a round, that's reason enough to forget the rest of the fight and give it to johnson. its ridiculous......

thats why not everybody is fit to be judges....glen johnson is starting to believe his own hype: that b/c he's been robbed before, any fight where he is not "beaten up" he feels he should be given the decision. he lost. had an opportunity to finish the fight, but couldn't. its his fault. but the right man was given the decision, end of story....
