i agree about it being a boring fight, unless pavlik ko him out early,he will be chasing and hopkins throwing two punches,holding,punch,hold,etc..BORING..
then when the decision comes and pavlik wins he will cry like always how he was robbed...

Hopkins will hang in there, never really get hurt, land enough to win 4 or 5 rounds, and lose a close decision. Of course he'll say he won and the judges are blind. The problem for Bernard in his later years is that they don't count not getting hit a lot as a way to win. You have to throw to win.
what SHOULD count, is who lands the more telling blows, not who throws more...........thats always been the way i look at it.......

i like max kellerman's p.o.v.: you decide which fighter you'd rather have been in a partiular round, and thats who wins it........

the thing about hopkins, and i agree he has to throw more, but in order to appreciate his fights, you have to actually appreciate "boxing" and not necessarily "fighting." joe calzaghe threw a helluva alot more than hopkins, but in that fight, there were only about 3 or 4 rounds where calzaghe actually landed the more telling blows......its good to throw, but it has to be frustrating to throw alot and not land anything clean......most ppl dont see it like that tho.

I will say that Hopkins will befuddle Pavlik for a while. Almost all night. Then Pavlik lands that punch which turns the whole fight around.

          SD for Pav

But I wouldn't be surprised if he knocked down Hopkins. KO? I dunno. That's not easy for a man who doesn't engage that much.

As for entertainment value, it will be a cat and mouse game. Pav is the cat in this match up.

hopkins needs to hold and he will. it will stop pavlik getting anything more than a 1-2 off. i can see hopkins winning this i really can.

                    think about it

hopkins will weigh close to 190 with pavlik being 180 ish on the day of the fight, giving away 10 lbs pavlik will be slower again and his punch will not carry that far. i can see hopkins putting on a tarver esque performance by standing out of range against the taller fighter.

It will happen what happened in the Mercado fight a long time ago. Hopkins will get hurt and knocked down. Maybe KOed.
