Whitaker couldnt stop Duran in his dreams.

Very very tough fight to call.

I think Duran would beat Floyd, but Whitaker might frustrate the hell outa him.

I say Whitaker wins because he delt with much bigger stronger opponents who could punch. Then again so did Duran.

Maybe over 15 rounds Durans body shots would take their toll.

Pernell Whitaker is a really good body puncher himself.

Lightweight Duran had the conditioning and patience to chase 'runners' (as Duran described them) better than he could at higher weights.

Whitaker was not exactly a runner though, he had the ability to stay in close, make his opponent miss and land counter punches of his own. He was also a good body puncher as mentioned by El Dominicano.

Against Duran however, it would be a smart idea for Whitaker to use a lot movement as he did against Azumah Nelson.
Duran is faster and more powerful than Chavez, fighting Duran's fight is very risky and Whitaker never took any chances. It could cost him the decision.

Duran was frustrated by movers though, even in the lightweight division (for example against Edwin Viruet), although he was in no danger of losing.

I'm certainly not comparing Lou Bizzaro to Pernell Whitaker but as seen here, simple running won't do.

Whitaker fights the Professor Azumah Nelson

Off topic but Roberto Duran vs Henry Armstrong would probably be the greatest fight ever.

It's a very, very tough fight to call, Whitaker certainly has the tools to outbox and frustrate Duran but Duran's intensity, power and inside fighting evens it up, I can't see either one getting knocked out in this one, close decision that could go either way.

And I agree with TheMachine, Duran vs Armstrong would be unbelievable.
