I've always said a prime Pernell was unbeatable at 135 so I gotta go with it. Pernell by UD on the back of his near perfect defence and incredible counter-punching.

pernell whitaker could dodge bullets so he could easilt beat duran, even though duran has destructive power. whitaker late tko stoppage.

Why isn't there an option for a draw?

Pernell's defense and boxing IQ gives him the advantage in my opinion. I can't see Sweet P doing that macho bs Sugar ray did in their first fight. Pernell knew his limitations-lack of power, thats why he had to overcompensate with immerse skill and ring intelligence. P didn't had to natural atheletism of a Sugar Ray so I think he'd know not to slug against a man who go by the moniker 'hands of stone'. P'd stick and move, all night. Similar to how he did against chavez, only at a faster pace.

yea man...good thread...i'd have to down a couple of tall cans and get faded with a notebook for this one...

the agression and power of Duran vs the defensive mastery of Pernell...would it be 12 or 15 rounds? could pernell counter for 15 rounds? could Duran impose his will in 12?

tough to call man...i'll have to think it over and come back later...
