Gary Shaw, everyone's theme song when they see him should be "Stay Away From My Door"

I've disliked Shaw since he signed Corrales. At the time Corrales , I think, was having disputes with his father, or step-father (perhaps his uncle) who manage and trained him, over their throwing in the towel in the Mayweather fight. Does anyone remember how he was arguing about wanting "to be carried out on my shield, like a Champion"......

Corrales should have known he couldn't win that fight, he was just skin and bone, hadn't eaten or drunk anything for weeks and was dying both on his feet and in the sweatbox right up to weigh in time, which incidentally he didn't make the first time, incredible as that may seem, since he was like "death warmed up".

Larry Merchant tells the story that he passed Corrales's dressing room just before the fight and saw him stuffing a huge sandwich into his mouth, that he was literally starving .

Then "Prince" got in there somewhere, and the next thing I heard was that Gary Shaw was his promoter. He did very badly by him during the Castillo fights and afterwards, and pushing him to so many tough and oberweight fights in such quick succession, appealing I believe, to his "machismo' which eventually was the ruination of what was a really great fighter and very good guy. I wonder how much Shaw contributed to Mrs. Coralles's fund, when she ended up with nothing, and a large family of kids to keep. Not much, at least I never heard of ANYTHING.

        Gary Shaw....NO definitely NOT. !!

You fail to mention that Corrales made millions with Shaw and left Mrs. Corrales with nothing. You fail to mention that around the Mayweather fight is when Corrales was going away to prison for nearly beating his pregnant wife half to death. The Prince got in when Corrales was in prison. Shaw got in because nobody wanted to touch Corrales after he got out of prison.
