Yeah, he'll be a monster alright...last guy Floyd Mayweather Sr. trained grew too humongous he couldn't make weight.

Floyd seniors fighters all fight completely different from that. Hatton has boxing ability, but is it really a good idea to be doing that against someone like Malignaggi? shoot, most fighters even if they were naturally boxers would decide to walk through Paulie's pillow punches to get to him instead of trying to box him.

how is Hatton going to change his normal style that hes been fighting in for years into something totally opposite, and why would he want to in a fight like THIS?

personally, I think its just a dumb idea. Senior might have been helpful if Hatton was fighting someone like Torres, but Malignaggi? bad choice, and I dont even think Floyd senior is all that great a trainer anyway
      .
      agree completely.

Honestly, I don't think so. Hatton is a very tough but limited fighter. And Floyd Sr is one of the most overrated trainers that I have ever seen. His biggest credential is excessive patting himself on the back!

I also think Roger is an overrated trainer too. You could put 3 chimps in Floyd Jr's corner and he would still be a dominant fighter.

I actually think Floyd Sr will hurt Hatton. Ricky is a pure pressure fighter. All Floyd ever does is having them do that tap-tap stuff on the mitts. That is not Ricky's style. I think he is going to get caught between styles and look less impressive.

I don't really care if he looks less impressive, I just hope it doesn't cost him a win. I also think Floyd Jr is massively overrated.

i think the taptap stuff is a huge part of their defensive succes.

it helps keep defense sharp at all times, thats why floyd can actually fight with his hands low all the time, trough that taptap stuff, blocking punches has become a instant reflex. and i think this could help hatton alot.

But.. there isnt enough time, and hatton has been very molded into a flawed fighter.

Hatton's natural style is that of a brawler/volume puncher. Big Floyd could add sumthin to him but all you'd have to do is hit him harder than he cares to be hit and the brawler would come out. I don't really see this paring changin up Hatton too much.

again, who has only one L, away from home with a crooked ref as well has having built one of the biggest fanbases ever with his style.

perhaps not as flawed as you think.

ricky won't be around long enough to see a major overhaul in his style. he should have done this 5 years ago.

He should beat Malignaggi even if he had Coco the Clown training him.
