      Why's he overated?
He's still the man to beat at 140, he's owned that weight division. His only loss is to Mayweather after moving up a weight and fighting the P4P.

Hattons resume is pretty ****ing good IMO.

Not enough time and skill to learn the Mayweather snr style.
Hatton will fight a mixture of both styles, not succeeding

i had it 8-4 collazo and think he got decision to settup money fight with mayweather. since u said u had it close im guessing you had it 6-6 with the knockdown? round1 ricky dominated but he could not keep that up. and refs are supposed to break up clinches, i just typed boxing in wikipedia and thats what it says.lol

Now I won't go as far to say he won't succeed at Sr's style, I just think he has been a brawler for too long to change styles. What I do credit him for, is "teaching" him ways to be defensive while still concentrating on the offense. I think Ricky has been doing this, in part, to maybe draw out Jr?? Who knows. Whatever the reason, I don't think a defensive oriented trainor can really go wrong with a naturally brawling student. I just feel it lies with Ricky - when push comes to shove, he's gonna say, "**** defense, let's do this *****!" just like he always has. I just hope, in part, he listens to Sr. should he get in the situation that deems good defensive abilities.

I think the exact opposite. Hatton his whole career has been a face first guy whos gameplan was to take some to get close, and then rip away with hard shots to the body and maul his opponent.
Floyd seniors fighters all fight completely different from that. Hatton has boxing ability, but is it really a good idea to be doing that against someone like Malignaggi? shoot, most fighters even if they were naturally boxers would decide to walk through Paulie's pillow punches to get to him instead of trying to box him.

how is Hatton going to change his normal style that hes been fighting in for years into something totally opposite, and why would he want to in a fight like THIS?

personally, I think its just a dumb idea. Senior might have been helpful if Hatton was fighting someone like Torres, but Malignaggi? bad choice, and I dont even think Floyd senior is all that great a trainer anyway.

I dunno, Floyd might have a poor effect on Hatton trying to impliment defensive techniques Hatton cant master, could take a bit of the fire out of his belly even, you don't know til he's in there with Paulie, slick as hell and making Hatton move

Well, pre-Kostya...Hatton was not Mr Hug'n'Hold, he was a good boxer and never walked into punches.

If Hatton can both box clever, and also fight on the inside...it spells trouble for Malignaggi.

to put it simply Hatton will benefit from their partnership but only marginally i think its way to late to try and improve his defence when he is at then end of his career this is a move he should have made a few years ago the phrase old dog new tricks comes to mind. i would love to see it happen but i seriously think it wont.
