Forrest needs to move up or down from the LMW division IMO why the hell is he wasteing his time fighting the likes Picchirillo,Mora, etc a guy with talents of Forrest should not be wasteing his time fighting less known fighters that will do nothing for him in the long run

"**** or Get Off the Pot!"...I'm a Martinez fan now and I didn't even see the fight. But no way Forrest will or should take this fight. Not enough $$$ at this stage of his career. I said it after the Mora fight, he should get Verno Phillips in the ring. Verno doesn't bring much $, but beating him would be much easier, and make Forrest the Ring Magazine and the real Champ at 154 cause they're #1 & #2. That would set up a DeLaHoya (owns controlling interest in The Ring) fight next spring to get Forrest his big Payday. Plus its a great fight b/w former Olympic teammates who have yet to fight despite great records and success by both.

Watched a interview with him after his title win, and he says he only wants big fights.Martinez is a good fighter and is on a 28 fight win streak, and i think Forrest should take the fight because i think as long as he has a title he will be in the mix for big fights, and also to get big fights he will have to win some fights in a row.

he is not fighting Martinez. Like Scott said Vernon hates fighting lefties and when asked about it Shaw said it was unlikely Vernon would take a fight with Martinez

At this point Vernon can't afford to lose that belt. Without it, he only brings name recognition. And his name does not bring excitement or money, just drowsiness. You just lost to Sergio Mora earlier this year. Take the fight!

Forrest has not fought a puncher since Mayorga KO"d him. He is taking the safer fights and waiting for one of the WW to move up.

The problem is that if he doesn't fight Martinez next, Forrest has no title to defend.
