De La faced far better opposition, moved up and down in weight and was still a premire fighter. He also was involved in the most compeitive divisions. The same cannot be said for Lennox.
Who did Lennox not fight? He fought Tyson, Holyfield, Grant, Vitali, Golata, rahman, McCall, Tua, Botha, Bruno, Briggs, Akinwande, Mercer, Morrison, Ruddock, Biggs. He beat all of them

Where else was he meant to go in weight class?

Who did Oscar fight and beat? Mayorga, Sturm, Vargas, Quartey, Chavez, Gatti, Camacho, Whitaker (robbery). He lost to Trinidad (robbery), Hopkins, Mosely (twice), Mayweather.

Oscar is a great featherweight not ATG, Lennox is an ATG Heavyweight.

Oscar de la Hoya. I just don't think Lennox had the quality of opposition to face to surpass Oscar's achievements.

Its all relative, but I would not discredit Oscar for beating Pacquiao, because Manny is a great fighter.
this man is fair! give oscar credit for his ko of pacman when it happens.

if they both make weight they both can fight.

ryno my friend if Pavlik Beats Margarito he will get BIG CREDIT! but he would expose that bully as a bum! Marg if he had half the balls would go up to a natural weight like 154 and 160 and challenge the best insted of crying the small 147 pound guys are avoidig him. Margo likes small guys he avoids the big guys he only fought P wil because he thought he was an easy mandatory.

also by you saying oscar doesnt raise in the rankings with a win over pacman shows your lack of respect for pacman! basically you saying pacman is a bum...but the truth is pacman is p4p number 1 so oscar will rise in the ranks regardless.
Pavlik would get no credit for beating Margarito none, Hearns moved past MW (where hagler beat him) to win a title at LHW. Pacquiao will not move past WW to win.

Pacquiao is P4P number 1 meaning IF HE WERE THE SAME SIZE HE WOULD BEAT etc. He isn't the same size as Oscar. Oscar will not move up in the rankings and especially not move up to number 1. He's hanging around the top 20 now. Seriously you post the ****** bull here sometimes.

Oscar will knock pacman out and in my book when he does he deserves top 15 p4p of all time! Oscar is a legend man and as much as I like pacman I love oscars left hook better! I cannot wait to see that sucker land flush on pacmans jaw.

Who fights at three weight divisions lower than Oscar, so giving him credit were he to win would be absurd.

I'm really surprised you'd say that bro, and that Osca's winning this poll.

Somewhat amazed actually. Osca seems to get too much respect for just facing the top guys, regardless of winning or not. Usually, not.

Where is Osca on the average all time welterweight rankings?
Where is Lewis on the average all time heavy weight rankings?

Like I say, I'm a little stunned by this polls results so far looking at the two objectively.

A fighter who has fought at junior fly against a fighter who won a weight class at middle is a huge ****ing difference. You stop acting like we are exaggerating.

And that is the reason that Mayweather gets such credit for beating guys like Oscar, right? You guys seriously act like size plays no role in boxing... it's absurd.
