Kimbo was a fraud basically he didn't represent MMA, but just an image.

        he's essentially a rookie

i could compare a boxer with 4 fights to Anderson Silva and make similar comparison as you have done, but it would just as dumb as your original comparison

And boxing as a sport doesn't disown a boxer just because he was KOed in seconds... Amir Khan is still pretty much a prospect...I guess KIMBO won't even be considered a true MMA fighter after this loss..

Maybe I'm being harsh since Kimbo did prove that he can fight against bums off the street in his youtube videos but that's about it.

The first professional MMA fighter he fought was the first time he lost, his other fights were against glorified bar brawlers, washed up boxers or people looking to make some easy cash by taking a dive.
Actually, Kimbo should have beat Petruzelli. Thompson is a better fighter than the guy he fought tonight.

I just find it amazing how a fighter headlining an event can look so BAD. Both fighters looked horrible. Petruzelli was holding out his leg as if he had no idea what he was doing.

While I think using Kimbo as an example for MMA is a cheap shot (we all know it is) this quote left me laughing out loud!

OK, so give me a "rookie" boxer who got KOed with a jab (that isn't even delivered properly).. Take your time, I'll wait.

Thompson may have been a better fighter until he got KO'd about 10 times in a row.

Even Thompson nearly KO'd Kimbo but the referee wouldn't stop it. When Kimbo got a few of his shots in, the referee stepped in.

Kimbo looked like a fish out of water when he was on the ground against Thompson, now he was punched once and had no idea where he was.

                      Christ.

I keep wondering if he slipped because the punch looked timid and innocuous beyond belief.
