Does anyone see a Tarver decision win over Dawson?

Indeed he did.I like the more-experienced Tarver personally, Dawson took a lot of punishment in his last fight and showed a lot of heart but not a great fight plan. He needs to be prepared because Tarver is very professional and tricky and his composure and relaxed style lulls you towards complacency. Dawson better be prepared for a nail-biter.
Dawson-Johnson had me on the edge of my seat. It was a great fight but I was dissapointed at how vulnerable Dawson looked. Either way, I'm still a fan of his but I definitely see his major weakness (sub par chin + OK defense).Comment

No. If Tarver wins, and I think he will, he'll do it by KO. Tarver is more powerful than anyone Dawson has faced and he's been shaken up/dropped before. Not sayin he'll blow thru Chad in 1 rd, but I see Tarver takin him out.Comment

You don't like Dawson but you like Klitschko and Kessler, no offense but that's enough said. On topic, Tarver is not fast enough and his stamina is not good enough to do well over the course of the fight, especially with a young energetic fighter like Chad. Dawson is also the better boxer, i just can't see Tarver winning a decision unless he has gotten into Dawson's head enough to the point where hes barely fighting at all and Tarver is dictating the pace, and that has never happened before.
I look at the Adamek fight rather than the Johnson fight, because Tarver is not a pressure fighter and won't make Dawson make those kinds on mistakes. Tarver will try to box with Chad's and try to capitalize on his mistakes and get lucky, and there so much you can do with that.Last edited by slicksouthpaw16; 10-04-2008, 07:34 PM.Comment

Tarver is a very good boxer too.
I think it's cool how most of the Europeans are rooting for Tarver.
At least that's the way it seems.
Tarver has been in with a much higher caliber of opposition and is a seasoned vet. You don't give him enough credit, southpaw.

I respect your opinion but it seems that your fondness of Dawson is blurring the big picture. Tarver CANNOT be counted out.You don't like Dawson but you like Klitschko and Kessler, no offense but that's enough said. 1) I feel he can definitely KO him
2) I feel he can even pull out with a decision victory
Those are my 2 cents.Comment
