Still no one will want to fight him @147lbs.

AM and PW both might as well move to 154lbs.

Both could challenge Mosley Phillips or Forrest for a belt.

You really cant feel sorry for either one of them crying about fights
when the natural process for fighters that size is move up.

The WBA has become the worst of the sanctioning organizations in several ways - they do whatever they want, their rules have little meaning.

The 'BA are a joke, most of the alphabet boys have policies that confuse even the most hardcore fans but the 'BA are exceptionally greedy by taking advantage of more belts in the same division and therefore getting more sanctioning fees. The only belt I really look for any more in the ring, they have some flaws but at least they acknowledge the best fighter in each division.

They made one guy a champion without ever fighting the actual title holder. Why not just make 100 champions under the WBA. Next a mandatory is in line, why not just make him the champ and the other guy a super chamo so they dont have to fight.
I think the first thing the alphabet boys need to do is rank other strap holders, then maybe unifications will happen more often. But you're right "super" champ is if a fighter has the 'BA and another organizations belt. I remember the 'BA said it was Lennox's idea but they were quick to strip him so it's more of the same politricks in boxing.

In a special ceremony during the midst of the WBA medical seminar in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the WBA presented Antonio “Tony” Margarito with it's Super Championship belt. According to the rules of its bylaws, under special circumstances the organization can appoint its current world champion in a division as Super Champion, an accolade normally bestowed upon unified champions who hold the WBA belt along with any other. The WBA felt that Margarito met those conditions to merit the Super Champion status. His mandatory defense will not be required for 18 months. In addition, Yuri Nuzhnenko, up until now the WBA interim champion (as former WBA champ Miguel Cotto was signed to fight then IBF champ Margarito), will now ascend to full WBA welterweight champion. His mandatory defense status and opponent will be soon determined. Pictured in the photo from L to R are Margarito's manager Francisco “Pancho” Espinoza, WBA 2nd VP Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, Margarito, and WBA president Gilberto Mendoza.

I had just posted in the other thread on this that Marg could use that dude for a tune up if he was gonna hev to fight him. This works out better tho. Now he can go straight to a big fight, which should be cool for him if he was gonna rematch Clottey in November. That part is cool, but at the same time it's typical bull**** from the governing bodies. Nice anotha no name has a belt he didn't fight for. But since we need Marg-Pwill 2 to crown the undisputed WW champ, the WBA belt don't really mean **** anyway, Marg is #1 and Pwill is #2, so **** the WBA and all their belts.

The WBA prove their greedyness over and over again... well at least now Margarito doesnt have to fight some bum anytime soon so it opens up big fights for him sometime early next year!
