yeah man Ali was great, all those guys back then were great Big George, and Joe Frazier, not as great as Ali though, even though Frazier fought like half his career blind out of one of his eyes

      physical attributes

handspeed - one of the fastest ever at heavy
footwork - best ever at heavy
speed - best ever at heavy
      defense - was good
chin - one of the best ever
toughness - one of the toughest ever
heart - one of the biggest heart ever
      punching power - was okay
      punch accuracy - very good
killer instinct - not that good

one can argue that ali was the best ever in 5-6 categories.

resume and legacy wise ali was one of the best ever.

2nd man to ever regain the heavyweight championship.

1st man ever to regain the heavyweight championship twice.

olympic gold medalist at light heavyweight.

fight of the year winner at the age of 21 , one of 4 times he won it.

heavyweight champion at the age of 22.

in the ring top 10 for 18 straight years.

how great was ali's resume? he was 7-1 against floyd patterson , sonny liston , joe frazier and george foreman.

Ali also had over 20 heavyweight championship fights, 30 if the NABF title counted.

Ali could take a punch better than almost anyone I've ever seen.

Some of the punches he took from Frazier, Norton, Shavers, Foreman and Liston made me cringe but he took all of it.

He took a lot of punishment in the professional ring but he may have taken even more in sparring.

Shavers said that some of the right hands he landed on Ali were just as powerful as the one he knocked down Holmes with.

            A full-powered Frazier left hook (2:15).

            Ali takes Liston's best

Prime Ali hitting and not getting hit

You hit the nail on the head mate , because when you add just how tough he was to all his very special attributes as a fighter he becomes the greatest heavyweight in history so far , no one could beat prime Ali in my view , the first Ali not the second coming .

I agree. I honestly believe that the Ali of 1966-67 would have beaten any heavyweight in history.
