Yeah, throw that age argument over to Wilfred Benitez and see what he says about it. Whilst age is a factor it is not the sole determinant of how shot a fighter is.

or the BRIT Lennox Lewis. Who came into his prime as a fighter at an advanced age. Or Mike Tyson who hit his peak at 20-21.

JS: Yes, I think Roy Jones will duck anyone who he feels is a threat. I don't think Roy likes to get hit, even in fights where the other guy is way overmatched Roy seems to be very cautious. Because of that, he's become a very dull fighter and I think anyone who has any skills at all is going have a tough time getting a fight with Roy Jones Jr. I feel he's afraid he's going to get hit and end up like Jerry Quarry, and it has really tainted his boxing career. I don't care to see him fight anymore and he used to be the most exciting fighter around.

I also heard rumours that RJJ ducked a fight from Nigel Benn from other sources including a friend. Is there any truth to this and who do you think would've won?

Also anyone know why the James Toney vs Eubank/Benn fights never happened? I think we've all seen the youtube clip where Toney calls both fighters out and Eubank looks upset.

Thats just how I wrote it. I didn't mean my friend is a proper source I just mean my friend had told me a while ago Roy Jones had ducked Nigel Benn and I didn't know that so I asked on here to find out what had happened.

Nigel would have had to come to the states and take like 20% if he wanted to fight the P4P king. it just so happens nobody wanted to come to this guy named Jones Jr P4P best in the world at the time. I guess everyone thought that since he was the best he should be the one racking up air miles! Crazy how that works........

Here's the logic problem.

Benn wants to fight Jones. Loses to Thulani. Why should Jones fight Benn? No one knows Benn in the states, Jones is the attraction. Why should Benn not make strides to make this fight.

Jones mentions this in an interview before the Lucas fight.

I agree with you there. Roy Jones was the bigger name and the better fighter IMO so any potential opponents should have came to America and took a lower % than Roy. If it's true Nigel Benn wanted 10 million for a Jones fight then thats ridiculous, especially considering it was his number one priority to fight Roy Jones! Why price yourself out of it? Makes no sense.
