I said it was what swayed it for me. Cotto was picked by many to dispose/expose Tony forever. None of those fighters were favored to beat Cotto to my knowledge. Tony also knocked out another beltholder as well. What Warp posted has great validity and I wouldn't upset if it was co-foty.

However, the Vic fight hasn't even happened yet, and none of Mijares opponents were undefeated beltholders.

If Margarito would have beat Clottey he would have definietly got it. But with two wins. One average win over someone he had already beat and then a comefrom behind spectactular stoppage is good, but (definietly no bias here lol) Miajres had the better year.

If Mijares beats Darchinyan, I agree that he deserves it. However I would expect it to go to the bigger boxer who fought in the more high profile fights.
