In boxings golden age when i might add there was probably much more influnce by the MOB and the gamblers HW Chamop ment something. Every kid growing up wanted to become Champ. Rocky Marciano was god. Muhammad Ali wasn't only a HW Champ and the Greatest but he was and still is an Icon. Kids everywhere watched fights with their fathers or listened to them on the radio. What happened? How does the sport regain some of that golden era and feeling again?.......Explain why you think it was and can still be that way or why it was and will never be again......Lefty

Mike Tyson to make a comeback and have a war with Evander Holyfeild, win. Fight Haye, win by 6th round TKO then get a shot at Wlad. Billed as the biggest fight since a long time ago, the now reformed Mike wins by 9th round KO and procedes to rip the division apart one man at a time, on free network TV. Then he KOs all the sactioning bodies, so only the WBC exists anymore.

Unfortunately I feel like today's society is filled with a bunch of ******* who think boxing is too violent and that's why it's not on TV. The sport hasn't changed any, it's the mentality nowadays that has. Plus nobody can follow who's the best anymore with all the belts. Let's not forget great matchups not being made consistently enough to keep interest high.Comment

With the crzae over MMA and the fake soap oprea WWE and all the blood and guts in the movies. You have same sex relationships in reguliar TV shows nowadays and girls constantly taking there clothes off. i was watching house the other day and I see Cutty in House's dream pole dancing in a school girl outfit refealing pretty much everything she had. All this and they are worried about boxing? Come on gimme a break?......LeftyComment

Sorry to say this boxing will never be a main stream sport again. Just too much damn money in team sports, people would rather follow a team than an individual. IMOComment

I'm not disagreeing with anything you are saying there. I bet MMA gets taken off CBS soon though. I know with all the crazy **** that is actually TV it seems ridiculous but boxing and MMA is nothing that is staged or fake. Also, there are plenty of people who don't like all the sex that's on TV today. Regardless, MMA, boxing and the WWE are basically all on cable TV, not network. I'd love to see boxing get back on ABC or the like but with PPV and it directly benefitting fighters and promoters, I'm not sure if either party is willing to take the risk of "possibly" obtaining new fans by putting a huge fight on network TV as opposed to PPV.Comment

Less PPV would go a long way to help boxing. We as fans don't help the sport by supporting high priced PPVs that we know are bull**** but since its the only boxing on we buy it. That will never teach the promoters a lesson about not giving us fans bull**** and expecting us to buy it so they can make money. Along with making up and coming fighters fight on network TV channels like NBC, ABC and CBS to build up a name and following before they can even get on Showtime or HBO.
They need to only have one championship belt and the champion of said division can only fight a fighter that is ranked in the top 5 of their division. Bring back same day weigh-ins so fighters will have to fight at weights that are more healthy for them and allows for less weight draining to have advantages on the actual fight night.Comment
