Hamed was an excellent fighter, he fought and beat some good fighters along the way and his only loss was to an ATG in my opinion in MAB. Even in defeat he was competitive but just out boxed.

As for punching power he has to be LB for LB one of hardest hitters, in his 17 or so title fights he stopped 15 opponents plus he had a style that was unorthodox and exciting to watch especially considering that he was almost always one punch away from a win (except against iron chin Wayne McCullough).

Great fighter, his biggest problem was that he knew this and made sure everyone else knew as well. He lost desire towards the end, simply because he made so much money so quickly.

Naz was a good fighter, not great...

And yes,he had lots of power and hit really hard.Outside the ring,he hit even harder...he used a car.

        He remains,a little punk-ass *****...

Why are people still obsessed with this chump after so many years?

Overrated? No. Technically he was the first dude to unify all 4 belts at Featherweight for a great number of years. He beat all 4 belt holders and knocked out almost everyone he fought. He had some classic fights like the Kevin Kelly War - The Hagler-Hearns of the Featherweights. One of the most poweful punchers ever. He also had a great chin and terrific reflexes.

His only loss was to an ATG in a fight where his head clearly wasnt in the game. Taking nothing away from Barrera cos he fought the perfect fight to nuetralise Hamed but Naz's heart just wasnt in it anymore.

Sad cos he couldve been an ATG himself and boxing misses characters like him.

I agree with this post. MAB made Nas look like a bum.

in hindsight yes. I don't see hamed beating morales, jmm, or pac either.

If Naz trained harder and didn't change trainer, I believe he could of beat Barrera. Besides that, he didn't train hard and only lost by 3 rounds on two judges scorecards.

He was possibly GBs most talented and entertaining boxer. (though a bit of an underachiever for what he could of won if he stuck at it).

i would vote yes...but not for the reasons that some are bashing him with...the 'he was a bum, MAB whooped him'...'he got exposed'...blah blah blah....

i say he was overrated because many touted him as a great champion...sure he didnt want any part of Morales, JMM and only took on MAB after his loss to El Terrible...that doesnt default to losses in those bouts since he had more than a punchers chance...

he's overrated in this fight fan's book because as a 'great' champ that his followers hailed him, he never came back to redeem himself...and if he did lose his 'heart' by the time he fought MAB, then that's another trait of 'non-greatness'

you make your mark in Europe, you invade the US and if you fail, you try to redeem yourself...i have more respect for Hatton who didnt bow out after his first defeat..he has more claim to greatness than Naz...
