Well, ESPN has surprised us with some great fights. The 3 prospects, Angula, Kirkland, and Gamboa have been stepping up with good competition. Great fights off the top of my head

Vazquez/Marquez III
Pacquiao/Marquez II
Dawson/Johnson
Cotto/Margarito
Arce/Concepcion
Marquez/Casamayor

That fight was boring as hell man.

yeah, he didnt looks his best, but the fight was good. I thought so, it provided action with drama and excitement. even a lil controversy.

I disagree, I feel it has been a pretty good year and will only get better. You may not like DLH-PAC but this fight is gonna be insane as far as giving boxing a nice push and hopefully broadening the fan base. I also agree that many up and coming prospects have definitely stepped it up and will be ready to make a lot of noise very soon (berto, kirkland, gamboa, ortiz, angulo etc). Another thing is that hopefully by the end of the year, the Heavyweight division will be slightly closer to unification.

and as far as broadening the fan base, uh how? don't most casual fans buy the big PPV's ... then go right back to not caring about boxing?

I was disappointed in Guzman too. I felt with a win over Campbell [Which i think he would have won had he made weight] He could have really taken over the 135 division with a fight with Marquez [Which i would have loved to see] on the horizon. Damn man. =(
