if you can make weight the it shouldn't really matter...

the difference with pacman dlh is that he's (pac) jumping weight classes.. he isn't natural at that weight.

      Williams 6'2 Reach:82
      Berto 5' 8-9 Reach: 72
      Clottey 5' 8 Reach: 70
      Margarito 5' 11 Reach: 73
      Cotto 5'7 Reach: 67

      De La Hoya 5 '10-11 Reach: 73
      Pacquiao 5'6-7 Reach: 67

If you look at the stats Williams has a 6 inch height advantage in most cases here. Also and more importantly he has a 9 - 15 inch reach adavantage. If you compare DLH to PAC the height advantage is 4 inches and the reach advantage is 7 inches. PAC is very comparable if not almost exactly the same height and reach as COtto. So why all the sh@t abotut FLH and not hearing any S3it about Williams? I don't understand why more people aren't saying the same about Williams.....Lefty

We have WEIGHT classes. Not HEIGHT or REACH classes.

as much as pwill being in the welter division is a size advantage just like dlh fighting pacqiuao, those are 2 very different situations.

pwill is at the beginning stages of his career and it is expected that after he cleans out the welter division, he is going to move up and take over the lmw, mw, smw, lhw divisons.

dlh on the other hand, is at the end of his career, and he should be fighting better competition since this might be his last fight or atleast one of his last fights. I defend pwill fighting at ww right now IF and only IF he is gonna move up to take the other divisions. and I do believe if he does move up and then in a couple of years moves back down to ww, everyone will be making a bigger deal out of that than they are on dlh right now.

          Simple.

Because before the Kolle fight, Williams was fighting at the weight class of 147 and had been there for awhile.

Williams didn't fight 3 straight guys moving up in weight (Forbes was only 150 for the TV show and he went back down to the 140 range after it ended) like DLH has.

I don't think much of the fact that Pacquiao started at 106 or whatever. That was many years ago, much like DLH fighting two times @ 130. What is more telling is that Pacquiao has been at least 4 divisions below DLH in much more recent years, except for their last fights when they were "merely" 15 lbs. apart.

15 pounds in HW there are sometimes 30-70 pound differences.....15 LBS PACMAN is P4P best fighter right as per Ring Magazine. Pretty Boy May was a 135 LB Champ and when he fought Oscar it was his first time at 154 If I remember correctly I think he came into the fight at 150.....Lefty

[Homer Simpson] You can use statistics to prove anything thats even remotely true. . .[/Homer Simpson]

its not all about height and reach its about muscle bulk and bone density as well, pacman will look totally dwarfed come fight time, and oscar will not be weight drained at all. I'd imagine paul has some problems making 47, so thats the smaller WWs advantage isnt it?

Mayweather left 135 in 2003. He was a welterweight champ when he moved up one weight class to fight De La Hoya.

The gap in size was smaller than this fight, and even then, you could see the noticable size difference.
