He can obviously box under pressure > Margarito

The fact he didnt have ANY southpaw sparring partners while preparing for the first time is exactly what the problem was... you train and train for a fight, and when you get in there, everything is backwards now... is that pauls fault? absolutely... but it wasnt because Quintana was a better fighter IMO... I dont think paul trained correctly for a south paw fighter, simple as that...

Fact is, he beat margarito, lost to quintana but KOed him in the following fight... i dont think he is hyped, he is what he is... one of the best welterweights out there that can only improve...

No im not one of the will fans that says Pavlik is ducking williams, because I dont believe that at all...

The Kolle fight was just a stay busy fight at a higher weight, nothing more, nothing less... nobody should be hyping that fight, and nobody should be downplaying it... he did in fact move up to weight classes and ko a guy who was 17-1 in the first round... i mean, thats NOT a BAD thing...

I do however think he can beat anyone at ww... and of course it has to do with his size...

at the end of the day, if he weighs in at 147, thats what he weighs in at...

    ----------------------------------------------

Everyone has an advantage in every fight

If your the taller guy, then use it to your advantage... stay tall, use your jab

If your the short guy, thats your advanatge, stay low, stay out of reach, and work the body.

That can be just an excuse to justify his loss.
And why couldn't Quintana of had an off night?
You gotta admit that Margarito fight was close and if they where to fight again
and Margarito turns it up earlier like he should have the first time he should win.
And he started his career @ middleweight.. so did he really move up?

Its a double edged sword, I believe Pwill is a better fighter overall than quintana and would beat him in a rubbermatch.. the fact he had no southpaw sparring partners is what says it for me... thats a huge mistake to make while preparing for a fight...

I thought it was a close fight, but clear and decisive for williams... I also think Williams is a different fighter now then he was the first time they fought, i think hes tuned in his power more... and I think its a stylistic nightmare for Margarito... someone who actually throws more punches than him, is taller, who moves a lot, and who can actually take a punch... i see a rematch with both quintana and margarito having the same conclusions

Since then he has fought 2 rounds.. Granted he KO'd the same guy who handed him his ass for 12 rounds..But since we saw nothing of the sort the 1st time.. We can safley assume the 2nd fight was a Fluke until we see a 3rd fight

        And then he KO'd a Nobody.. at 160.. and I mean a ****ING nobody..in 1 round..

Now suddenly Guys like Kelly Pavlik are ducking him???

I am sorry guys.. But Paul Williams is a very beatable fighter..Even the Margarito fight was more about what Margarito DIDN`T do as oppossed to what Williams did..

Paul Williams is nothing more than a Prospect with 1 good win and a humiliating loss on his resume..

Potential?? .. Yes... Already there?? Nope

I see Quintana losing a decision and Margarito winning.
Maybe so.. but I don't buy that no southpaw sparring partners biz cus we don't know that for a fact.
The same can be said about Quintana.. He didn't have dudes tall and lanky enough to train properly for the second fight.
I dunno.. It seems like everyone is hyping Williams up now because Mayweather is gone and they want him to be the next black super star. I don't like how he gets away with things other boxers cant. I don't like the way people are over hyping him.

Berto.. now that's someone you can hype! If he learns to land more then 2 shots in a 5 punch combo he should be great in a couple of years. You can tell boy has it but Williams?? Too me he nothing special and is only where he is at because of his height and reach.. Against dudes in the division he started off in (middleweight) im sure things would be much much more different. Especially with dudes like Kelly Pavlik walking around.

Pwill beat Marg fair and square in a good, close fight. He's a damn good fighter who can win against any WW. People who hate Marg (Cotto/PBF stans) have become Pwill stans by default and will hype him to hell for this at every opportunity, despite the win not bein nearly as brutal and one sided as they'd like to believe.

i just dont buy the hes too tall so he shouldnt fight in this division... thats complete bull****, if the guy can make 147, he can make 147... and thats the exact reason theres weight restrictions and not height restrictions

I always thought mayweather couldnt beat williams, just because of the stylistic nightmare paul confronts to everyone...

i dont hype paul, ive been a fan since before he had a belt

Would you say Valuev is a gifted athlete/boxer or is where he is at because of his sheer size alone?
                Same with Williams..

PW still has the size and style to make life difficult for whoever he fights but I'd put the Quintana loss down to overconfidence and lack of concentration. Like some of you guys said, he's not there yet but he might have the most potential of any guy out there.

I still think he is a freak and should move up too 154 or 160 but never the less he can make 147 so NOW WHAT?,,,,,Lefty
You're wrong cotto did everything he can do! He even said he had a plan a, plan b, and plan c and it didn't work. He said himself he was beaten by a better man and nothing he did worked against margarito. So what can cotto do differently in a rematch to change the outcome?
