Berto is not a hype job, how far ha can go is yet to be seen but he is already a champion, not elite, but a champion. Yuriorkis Gamboa, now that's a hype job, nobody that chinny can be elite unless they have some crazy heart, and even then you can't be chinny vs regular joes because that means the top dogs are going to maul you.

Yeah, the Collazo fight shouldn't be too tough if he is what he is being hailed as. The next step up should be what tells us how good he is. If he fails here, then yes, he was terribly over-hyped.

i definitly think he's a good PROSPECT.. AND YES READ WELL.. FOR ME he still a prospect...

but for any reason i think theres 2 much buzz on this guy... so the question is...

I'm glad you put this post up because I have been saying the same thing for a very long time. First, DiBella needed a golden boy to fill JT's shoes once Taylor eventually goes out. He was so protective of Berto. Berto should have been fighting A level fighters 3 or 4 fights ago. Instead, he fought nobodies... or used-to-bes. Berto has a hell of a lot of skill, but he hasn't fought anyone that is capable of separating the men from the boys. I'd actually like to see Judah-Berto. Judah is a good litmus test for separating the A fighers from the B fighters... Lets not forget the first letter in Andre's last name!

its funny how boxing works because in berto's case, it was almost a bad thing that he got a belt...now he's thrust in the spotlight with championship expectations from fight fans...it would have been good to see him polish up even more and then step his game up


but it is what it is...i think he has the goods...now lets see about that heart
