he has the potential in maybee three or four years time if he is protected and given the right opponents that he can learn from but he is no where near the level of Cotto, Margarito Williams and Clottey.

I even think Quintanna will beat him,

Collazo suffered a cut as the article said and may not be ready in time for his mandatory which means Cotto as No.2 should be getting a shot if Collazo cant make it.

Sooner or latter a Quintanna or a Cotto will be a mandatory for him so we shall see.

Berto did pretty good against Forbes, but then again, Forbes was just a CONTENDER.

he's the best because he's beaten who exactly?

collazo, williams, quintana, margs, clottey, cotto and maybe even zab are all ahead of him at this point.

I see potential in Berto, not to be the best welterweight, but to be a good and exciting fighter in that division. I don't think that right now he can handle Margarito or Williams. Clottey is pretty questionable also. Cotto would be a very exciting fight and I think would be good for fans, but bad overal for Berto at the moment. But I don't think we'll see any of these match up in the immediate future, if his handlers are wise in regards to his career.

I think that Zab Judah would provide a good test for him. Zab was much improved in his last outing against Clottey, although he lost, he gave a good account for himself.

lmao in no way shape or form is berto the best welterweight in the world.
there are proberly 5 or so fighters in that division better than him.
I say give it 3 or 4 years and he will be awesome and maybe then will he be the best welterweight. The one ting that worries me about berto is his chin becuase it seems very fragile and i wonder if he could **** with heavy handed fighters like tony and cotto.
