As bad as Forbes appears to be or you seem to think he is. Let's face it he is a 135lb class fighter at best an he is fighting at 147. He hung in there with DLH and wa able to land some clean punches and got he full 12 rounds there. That earned him a fight with Berto. He again gave Berto some trobule early on and this si expected from Berto who is a young unseasoned Champion. Berto was able to figure him out but not able to stop him. The 12 round one sides diecision was expected. But Forbes is a good test for a young guy who wants to see what he got. Forbes take a good punch and is not easy to hit vleanly. his hand speed is decent and he throws back. Even though he lost his last 2 fights I still think he is a good WW and not as bad as you are making him out to be. I think his problem is that he has been a sparring partner so long he gets into sparring mode and maybe he doesnt think he belongs in the ring with these guys. Just hye gets satisfied woth the pay day and leaving the ring standing up and no hurt.....Lefty

Berto is fast as hell, but still has issues with consistency. A lot of those fast combos he was throwing weren't landing flush until the later rounds. His stamina seems to be in tact, but I wonder how he'll react when he steps in with a harder puncher because Berto still leaves his hands down after his 3-4 hit combos.
He's got promise though, but I still don't think he's ready for the elite dogs yet. Collazo is a good step up in comp for sure. I'll be looking forward to that.Comment

I'm just saying, Boxing is kinda going the wrong way with this.
Promoters are linked far to closely to Boxing organisations.
If you are a World champion, you should be one of the best in the division, t.b.h. there are atleast 4/5 better fighters at welterweight. And with 4 organisations, someones missing out.
You say Berto is upping his competition with every fight, building up. But to what, He IS World champion already. You should be having buildups to a world championship fight.
In a way, belts are given far to easily and far to early today.
It's the classic scenario of, the fighter makes the belt.Comment

To be eligible for a title opportunity a fighter has to be ranked in the top 15 of the organization. That's 15 fighters, and maybe not all of them meet your standards. But to denigrate a fighter like Forbes who has been a world champion and pulled off some good wins as a bum is just too far from the truth to be realistic. If you say he can't box for ****, then you're only watching Ray Robinson and Leonard fights.
Otherwise this thread would have died a quick death.
You didn't seriously believe I thought he was a bum did you?Comment
