    Floyd Mayweather Jr.

No. I judge a fighter on who they have faced and defeated. Whether they themselves have been beaten means very little to me.

Co-sign. Good post. Who cares if you're undefeated if you've never faced anyone who could threaten you?

Marciano did fight some names tho and defended his title, you cant really thro mud on his resume and legacy especially since he actually wasnt that great of a boxer and more of a brawler.

A fighter should be judged on level on competition. That is the only true test of a fighter's worth. Your poll suggest that someone like Chris John or Sven Ottke could be placed above someone like Felix Trinidad.

Yea as talented as John is, he needs to kick up his competition cuz his biggest win (marquez) I felt he didnt deserve

I think Floyd has a good resume but it could have been better since he was always aiming for money.

His run at 130 tho cannot be argued with

It depends on who they beat.

In my opinion, losing and coming back emphatically in the rematch is more impressive than winning dominately in the rematch.

Not one bit. Alot of guys could have been undefeated over the years had they been paid enough to just fight whoever they thought they could beat *cough Mayweather cough* so I respect a guy who fought the best and lost and maybe came back to win in a rematch over someone unbeaten who didnt beat anyone. I judge a fighter on the quality of the people he beat. If you fight the best your whole career, you wont win them all.

No disrespect to the rock, but he was fighting a lot of big names on their way out, kind of what we today would call past their prime. Also at the time fighters were putting on a lot more mileage then he was. Only 49 fights compared to the guys he was fighting is pretty damn low.
