How Is Jermain Taylor Ever Going To Win a SMW Title?

Very shortly all 4 'big four' alphabelts in the SMW division are going to be in the hands of Brit/Euro/Russia/Canada bums. We all know that these guys don't bring anything like enough to the table for a real boxer like Jermain Taylor to bother fighting them. After all, who have they beat and what have they done?

So since he won't be fighting these guys, who is Jermain Taylor going to fight in the SMW division, and how is he going to get a title? A Jeff Lacy trilogy perhaps? Maybe if Paul Williams can get a win over Left Hook too they could fight for the Ring belt? They would easily be the #1 and #2 in the division after that.

It's a puzzle, it really is.

Mikkel Kessler and Lucian Bute are pretty solid tests and could bring trouble to Taylor

Very good post - clever sarcasm.

But seriously, I think Jermain will fight the winner of Pascal vs. Froch.

He won't want to fight Kessler, because he would surely lose, and there will be difficulties in making a fight with Inkin or Bute.

Edison Miranda will KO a journeyman, and be rated #1 in the division as a consequence.

In a way I hope Froch lives up to the protected Euro myth. I would laugh my ass off if those guys froze Taylor out. After all, who has he beat in the division?!

Inkin and Froch arent all that incredibly impressive to me, but Kessler and Bute are different stories.

still, Taylor is inconsistant. he has been off and on about his training and discipline while fighting, and he could let his career go to waste. so I dunno.

He seems to have trouble making weight no matter what division he fights at.

I can imagine his training team

"Ok, we're moving up 8lbs, so that means we can add another 8lbs of muscle!"
"But wait, won't that mean that we're weight drained again?"
"No ******, we're moving UP in weight!"
                "But..."
"OK fine, let's add 15lbs of muscle and then just dehydrate that extra bit more before the weigh in"

First things first: Edison Miranda is going to attempt to fight at LHW?

                  Bwahahaha!

Secondly, he needs to take a leaf out of Paul Williams book, he can fight at any weight class.

He will win a title at SW in my opinion.
