There is no reason why this fight shouldn't be made, **** Arum for not wanting this fight. Honestly I rather see Margarito-Williams II then a rematch with Cotto. If the Williams fight doesn't happen who do you see Tony fighting next? Clottey is still a possibility if he doesn't fight Cotto first, Berto ain't getting near Margarito, he would get pulverized. So who's next for Margarito?
Top Rank can't get Margarito a fight for their lives. They need a Cotto rematch to give Margarito the money he wants, plus Bob wants the strap off Margarito since his value is kinda ****ty.

If he loses in a rematch I almost guarantee Margarito takes the Williams fight just to get in the title picture again.

But you can't diss Mosley for not wanting to fight Margarito. Chances are Mosley will lose that fight. A Williams fight or a Cotto fight is still Margarito's best chance at getting the biggest purse.

Kinda funny now though how Margarito is screaming $$$ LOL...the irony

Im sure if Marg comes calling Shane will take the fight.
Honestly I hardily think that Shane would back down from Marg. Like he said he is 37 and wants the big fights now not in late 09 early 2010. Marg has an agenda and Shane due to his loss to Cotto is not part of it right now. Marg can make big money off his rematch with Cotto and fighting Shane right now makes no sense. he rather fight a tune up in early 09 and then Cotto in June or July. I see Shane maybe going at it with Forrest for a 3rd time at 154 or locking horns with another big name before he retires in 09'. DLH and Shane said they would never fight again but the 3rd fight might be mage $$$$$ for the both of them so who knows fellas......Lefty

besides that $4 Million offer from Gossen to Marg to face Paul.
Let Marg fight Cotto big bucks for both of them $$$$$

Williams fight Clottey they make decent $$$$

If it turns out how people are saying you have a big fight $$$$ between Marg and Williams II if Cotto wins you have money fight Marg Cotto III....If Cotto wins Williams will be the odd guy out unless the Clottey fight is a good one then maybe they rematch?? Or Berto might factor in as well. I still see Williams as being the odd man out and maybe moving up to fight bigger men....Lefty

To Mosley's credit, I never heard any talks of Arum pairing Margarito against Mosley and Mosley isn't pussing out for not wanting to wait for Margarito. Like he said, he's not getting any younger. I would not call that move a duck. I'd be willing to bet that if Margarito knocked on Shane's door asking to fight, Mosley would graciously accept.

1006 he never backed down from no one. He took rematches against Forrest and Winky after people were saying to move on and that might have hurt his career but he wanted to try to avenge his losses. I see him gladly taking a fight for 4 mil. he said it after he head the money May said no to either 4 or 5 mil....I think we can find something on you tube to provie it.....

I demand a Margarito-Williams rematch as soon as possible at this point. I wanted Tony to get a big payday but since that didn't happen this year against Oscar or even Mosley there is no excuse as to why Margarito can't fight Williams. Arum make this ****ing fight happen you greedy old coot.
I think I agree with you on that.

I'm not really all that interested in a Cotto re-match right now with Williams, Berto and Clottey who he could be fighting. I would like to see a Cotto rematch in the future if Cotto can get a few good wins though. I really just want to see a Margarito vs. Williams rematch, that will prove who is the best in the division

Really???? Cotto got KTFO and Clottey lost a UD partially because of an injury. There is a question there, could Clottey have beaten him if he had not gotten the injury? At this point, I think Clottey deserves a rematch more so than Cotto. I want to see Cotto fight him again but I think he needs a couple wins before he jumps back in with the guy who knocked him out.

Margarito fighting Clottey, future of the welterweight div

I think Margarito was going to fight Clottey so he could get his IBF belt back. If Williams is smart he fights Clottey on his Nov 29 HBO date. When Williams beats Clottey he will then have the WBO/IBF belts and may even pass Margarito on may be heralded as the #1 welterweight as he should be. Then Cotto should fight Berto in early 2009, a fight I think Berto actually wins. When Cotto goes down, the Margarito/Williams fight could happen because Berto will definetly duck Margarito!
