Hard to say, Clottey became much more conservative after hurting his hands, allowing Margarito to take control of the fight. I think if they fought now and both were 100% healthy, it'd be a pretty close fight, a good one as well.

Could be. To tell you the truth I don't follow Clottey much. I saw the Margarito and Judah fights, that was it. I just don't care to see him fight, not sure why.

I still think Williams should be the top choice though, though Marg's fight in January '09 is likely to be a tuneup.

Even if Margarito takes a "tune-up" title defense in January, he should fight Williams right after that on the summer instead of Cotto, I really could care less about a Cotto rematch unless it's to unify a belt otherwise it's pointless. I demand a Margarito-Williams rematch as soon as possible at this point. I wanted Tony to get a big payday but since that didn't happen this year against Oscar or even Mosley there is no excuse as to why Margarito can't fight Williams. OK now that Shane just eat his words and practically pussied out who is left to fight Margarito in January besides Paul Williams? honestly I feel the Williams fight needs to be made next for Tony. He's on a good streak and has the confidence and momentum going his way and this can be said for Williams as well.

There is no reason why this fight shouldn't be made, **** Arum for not wanting this fight. Honestly I rather see Margarito-Williams II then a rematch with Cotto. If the Williams fight doesn't happen who do you see Tony fighting next? Clottey is still a possibility if he doesn't fight Cotto first, Berto ain't getting near Margarito, he would get pulverized. So who's next for Margarito?

Regardless of what opponent you or I want for Margo to fight next, I'll guarantee you it would be a hand pick tune-up fighter early 2009 that means no Clottey, no Williams, cuz for summer time Arum would make good money with Cotto/Margo II

yeah i find it kinda amazing that a Cotto-Margarito rematch is already being penciled in for June of next year

yet almost no mention of Williams-Margarito 2

besides that $4 Million offer from Gossen to Marg to face Paul.

I want to see either Wlillams or Clottey. Would of been interesting seeing Margarito fight Mosely just to see if he could be the first man to stop him.
