Will Mosley retire after this fight?

Judging by the interview, Shane Mosley knows he is not the fighter he once was. It really showed tonight even though he won by KO. Shane no longer throws those fast fluid combinations. He mostly just loads up now. The fighter he beat tonight is an overrated fraud who knows how to sell himself to the public and has been years now. Mosley indirectly said he is no longer looking to fight Margarito or even compete on that level anymore. When asked about Berto he was equally evasive and openly acknowledged his age.. Anybody else see this or believe Mosley will retire?

You are right that based on the interview Mosley knows he's not as good as he used to be. But he's still good enough and I think he'll still push for a fight with Margarito some time in early '09

I really hope so. Shane didn't look like Shane tonight. He didn't even look like the Shane that fought Cotto.

I know some of it had to do with how strong Mayorga was, and the awkward style, but I think some of it has to do with the amount of punishment he has taken in his career.

I did not like how he sounded in the post fight interview. His speech patterns are starting to change.

Now is the perfect time to hang up the gloves. Close out his career in emphatic fashion. He has nothing left to prove.

I thought he looked bad tonight against a crap opponent and at this point it is a case of dimishing returns. I think Shane will fight again, but I'd be happy if he did retire.

The finish was incredible but I agree that as a top fighter he is nearly done.

It sounded to me like he had inside info on Margarito's next move/intentions thats why he didn't go for it. Don't forget he's a promoter now too so he's going to have that info.

I was not impressed with shane tonight.I had mayo winning the fight by 2-3 points. If shane does continue to fight he will have to fight at a smaller weight.I hope he keeps fighting.
