I think he did, and I hate that style in boxing.
Did Berto clinch too much for your liking against Forbes?

I think he was trying to fight on the inside...something his previous opponents were available for...but Forbes likes to move and slip..so I think he was forcing it while trying to find his uppercut and exploding angles -

i agree with this. forbes' mentality is, "if i can't outbox this guy and win, i'm going to take as little punishment as possible." there's a reason he's never been knocked down, and i would argue that's the same reason he has failed at the highest level. he is content to lose competitively.Comment

I think both of them clinch alot, I think thats there style of boxing. Neither of them threw that many punches. There punch stats were like about dead even on how many punches they threw, I believe both were said to have thrown 600 punches... Thats bad when you compare it to someone like Cotto/Margarito who I believe have thrown almost up to 1,000 or more punches in there fights. He has nice speed though, but he takes breaks too often... He wouldn't last long against Margarito, and Williams at all.Comment

Yes but I doubt most people will call him on it like they do with Hatton.
When its Berto, Hopkins or Floyd, its called "smarts".

He definitely pulled a hatton tonight, seems like he clinches like forbes does so that he can fight in spurts. I hate that ****. Maybe his stamina is highly overrated(bertos). People who clinch that much I'd think would have stamina isssues.Comment

Forbes is just a pure boxer and doesn't like to engage that much. I think Tyrant was right that maybe he was keeping him close to some work. In other fights i've seen him not clinch and do some good in fighting. Holding is not something he's done very much in his previous fights.Comment
