Except for the fact that he won his first world title by outboxing Tracy Harris Patterson, and his 2nd world title after he'd returned more to his boxer-puncher ways.

Branco. Good old alphabet organizations putting in mandatories who really aren't that good.

Regardless, Gatti was more of a "boxer" than a number of world title holders.

You always put those fly honeys in your profile picture so I can't hate you that much, but you're the ultimate Gatti hater.

The guy could box early on in his career. He outboxed a very very good technical boxer in Tracy Patterson TWICE. He was also close to unbeaten at the lower weight classes by being a great fundamental boxer with head movement and a solid jab. You should do your homework and get a hold of some of his earlier fights against Talafiero, Suerto, Calvn Grove and a bunch of other opponents and then see what you think. Instead of being like all the other casual fans and basing **** on a couple of FOTY fights.

Did Michael Jordan stink because he became average Mike when playing for the Wizards? Nah, he was just a different player with a different game and style.

Nobody is PBF so you should stop comparing and riding his dong.

There have been far worse " champions " out there.

Um, a lotta fighters who brawl and/or are pure KO punchers win belts without bein able to outbox their opponents.

with four belts in every division, I'd say your career is a flat out failure if you don't hold a WBC, WBA, IBF or WBO belt at some point

Gatti could box. Go watch his fights against Patterson. He drifted into a brawler style because he enjoyed it and by the time he managed to get back to boxing a little more he had taken too much out of himself to be as effective. The man still had a great deal of talent though, it is not debatable.
