I wasn't being defensive, I answered your question by saying that Kessler has never beaten a 'great' opponent.

I then pointed out that the notion of 'great' opponents is a slightly ridiculous one, since those very 'greats' themselves quite often haven't beaten the 'great' opponents that are supposedly the prerequisite of 'greatness'!

Its really just silliness caused by knowing too little about boxing but buying wholesale into the hype you see on TV, without understanding why that hype exists in the first place.

Kessler himself has said that Lucas was his best performance. Mundine he said was his toughest fight (probably due to his back problems).

You asked for a really good fighter Kessler has beaten. I say take a pick since all those wins was against good opposition (not great but good).

So book report aside your answer is none. Gotcha.

          Back pain against Mundine
          Right Hand against Calzaghe
Management fault not fighting top fighters

Yes, Brizspac, that was my answer, as you can read in my post. How do you respond to the points I raise that, to take the best example, Bernard Hopkins a supposedly ATG MW, did not beat a single fellow great MW in his entire lengthy career, but lost to one, and failed to beat some non-greats too.

Those points are tired and boring. I said good-great FIGHTER. I did not start waxing defensive nonsense about (MW) vs. (SMW).

Hopkins has beaten Tarver and Winky. Those two guys are better skillwise than anyone on Kesslers list other than Joe. Tito was a MW when Hopkins fought him, bull**** from some posters aside, but I'm not getting into THAT again because it's boring and just an attempt to take this off topic and defend Kessler. Nice off topic comment about old ass Hopkins losing to Taylor after throwing three punches a round. You don't think that every fight from Eastman on he was plagued by age based inactivity? In fact that only fight where he really opened up after that was Tarver, but Tarver essentially gave up on that fight after two rounds or so (and I say opened up only if you count a guy throwing an average of 12 punches a round opening up). But again this has been argued to death. Who cares.

I'm not attacking poor Kessler. I think he has potential and at the very least would look good in losing to most anyone.

I personally think the best fighter he's beaten is probably Mundine to be honest.
