Williams fights Kolle and not a damn thing is said.. even though his last opponents have lost more then half their fights. Now that he won in a first round KO the hype job continues. LOL @ you people.
    Couple of things:

Kolle is a middleweight who wasn't stopped until like round 6 against Andre Ward. Ward fights at Super Middle now. Also Ward had made him quit. Not viciously KO him like Williams did.

Andy Kolle might be a lesser fighter than Alfonso Gomez in a p4p sense, but Williams looked good in doing so. He had good head movement and seemed to have the same speed he had at welterweight. He had popped and landed some very nice counters.

Cotto toyed with Gomez in a fight that everyone thought that Cotto was going dispatch him sooner or in more impressive fashion. Williams was supposed to win, but just most likely in a points victory and get him some rounds to stay active.

Also you make Andy Kolle's resume sound like ****, and it is, but you under play it. Kolle was coming off wins of Johnathan Reid and Matt Vanda. He was increasing his comp generally.

williams.. He Couldn't Hang With People His Own Size So He Had To Move Wayy Down.
I'd Like To See Him In Against Someone His Own Size (pavlik)
He'd Be Kissing Canvas And Showing Everyone Why It Is He Ran From That Weight.
    Three things here:

    1. If he couldn't hang at Middleweight then why was he undefeated? Williams could make 147 and that's why he moved down. Like I said in my other thread, if it's controlled like the second quintana fight (in which he only rehydrated to 156) then he can make it fine.

    2. He'd be kissing the canvas? Isn't that funny when you have Mosley in your avatar? According to your awesome logic, Mosley ran from JLC and then went to DLH. This means he should have gotten crushed. Granted I don't think he can beat Pavlik, but if Mosley could have a chance then why couldn't Williams.

    3. He'd be kissing the canvas based on what? His incredibly weak chin he showed against Margarito? Question:

If Williams is killing himself to make 147 and should be fighting at 160 then shouldn't he be rocked by a lot of welterweight shots and be chinny like Cotto was at 140? Also how come Williams is so drained he can throw like 100 punches a round?

If Cotto can become stronger at a bigger weight class then why can't Williams? Same with Mosley for that matter. **** half your fighters in your sig can be better at different weight classes.

Cotto at 147, Corrales at 135 was still strong, Mosley at 147 and, Guzman at 130.

He "ran" from that weight so bad he tried to make a fight with Winky Wright (in which was cancelled because HBO had no more money for that type of fight) and also Kelly Pavlik remember?

paul williams started at middleweight, so that means nothing?
It shows he might be able to compete with middleweights and remember all those fights he could fight at welterweight? Incufan is dead on the money with this, if you can make weight YOU MAKE IT.

My only concern is Williams' health in draining, but last time he only rehydrated to 156 so he obviously prepared himself a lot better.

He moved up in weight and knocked a guy out in the first round. Sure Kolle wasn't good but it's a fairly decent accomplishment. Considering he will jump right back down and fight at 147 in November. Why bring up Cotto?

          Like I have said before.
Whats the problem? PWill WANTS the rematch. Margarito? Not so much, it seems.
Make all the sigs, and jokes you want. At 147, until proved different, PWill is the man.
          Plain and Simple Common Sense.
Or does that "scary" **** only apply towards Marg?
Hey, just fight the man that got you, folks. Stop fishing. You want a fight, fight the dude that has been calling you out.

LOL i cant believe the creator of this thread thinks gomez is a good fighter.. he's a d class fighter and complete garbage.. kolle is pretty sorry too but atleast williams moved up in weight class and koed the guy in the first round.. thats more impressive than cotto's bum win against gomez that ended in like the 5th or 6th round.. cotto probably could of and should have koed gomez in the first round instead of showboating

"Cotto would fold PWill like a folding chair". Somebody told me that. I'd really like to see him try that.
Call me a band wagon fan. But really, at 147?

You pretty much said everything, literally EVERYTHING i was going to say. Basically fighters chase money. I used to think that guys are "too big" for a certain weight shouldnt be at that weight, but in reality, guys just chase the money, they go where the money can be made and to the level they can compete in. I used to hate on maragarito for picking on guys smaller than him but if he can make the weight, i dont really have much of a right to rip on him. The thing is, Williams did try to fight Kelly Pavlik like you said, as well as Winky Wright, and also, Gomez we all KNEW was a no-hoper, it was a weak fight that told us nothing, and while yea, it was a stay busy fight, it wasnt impressed by any means and honestly after that gomez fight, i think Cotto fell in love with himself and his power to such an extent he went into the margarito fight thinking he could knock him out.

I think the topic creator is definately reaching because he himself, for whatever reason, does NOT like Paul Williams which, if you hold any fandom for margarito or cotto, i can kind of see why.
