It was an alright card but it was not great at all. There was no suspence and no thrilling fights or even a competitive fight. There were some cool knockouts and some of the prospects looked like they might be ok, but that was not a very good card. Arum's cards were **** though for the most part so it was probably better then the average Versus card under Arum.
THAT is what should be The STANDARD for VERSUS FIGHT CARDS

if u make the card any better, HBO or SHOWTIME is gonna pick it up.It was an alright card but it was not great at all. There was no suspence and no thrilling fights or even a competitive fight. It was perfect for what it was meant to be. A vehicle to advance Williams and Arreolas careers.
If they make any of those fights more competitive, its costs a lot more money, and HBO or SHOWTIME would have picked it up.
What im saying is, for a VERSUS card, it was fantastic. Well done all aroundComment

The fights were entertaining, but total mismatches. Nothing I'd label great. To me a "great" card has 5 fights, last 5 hours, and nobody can agree on the scoring out of the 8 guys you're watching the fight with, and by the end of the night everybody is ****** drunk and taking turns pounding on each other in the yard with the 3 old sets of gloves you had stuck in the top of the closet. That's a "great" card.Comment

Versus pays inbetween Boxing After Dark (less) and Shobox (more). They can do a lot better then what they did last night, not with someone like Paul Williams in the main event but with lesser known fighters facing much stiffer competition, that would make much better fights. I am sure they will do that in the future though, but I do not think this should be Versus gold standard of fight cards.if u make the card any better, HBO or SHOWTIME is gonna pick it up.

yeas and three KO's.That ****** Top Rank deal was horrendous, i hope to god they dont renew it.
They have some terrific cards on the line up:
Orlando Salido vs. Cristobal Cruz with Demetrius Andrade (US OLYMPIAN) pro debut on the undercard
Sakio Bika vs. Peter Manfredo Jr.
with Grady Brewer vs.Corneluius "K9" Bundrage, on the undercard. WHich is a fantastic card
And tonights card was exactly what they should be doing. Were the matches lopsided? yea, but they werent complete mismatches on paper. And i understand that promoters need these exciting KO performances to get the ball rolling.
I mean look at the forum. Everyone wants to see Williams again. It was a very big success for Williams team.
I mean, they had James Toney in the crowd, getting interviews and stuff.
It was exactly what a network like Versus should be to boxing. That network that will buy fights 12x a year, that are too good for espn2, but not good enough for HBO or showtime.
my brother lives down there and said they had $20 tickets for those fights.Comment
