I could think of 10 other middleweights who would have looked the same against Andy Kolle.

I must have missed the memo but last time i checked Andy Kolle was a bum. I didnt know Andy Kolle was the measuring stick for greatness at the 160 pound weight division.

Anyways cong**** Paul, good knockout on free cable tv.

Paul Williams -vs- Andy Kolle: Round by Round

    Arreola -vs- Garcia:

Cris Arreola gives his hometown crowd the expected knockout win, and it’s a good thing it happened early because it’s no sure thing that Arreola could have gone deep into the fight. Garcia was game but way out of his depth - the only strategy for Garcia to win by was to outlast Arreola, but “The Nightmare’ was determined not to let that happen.

    Ramos -vs- Sarabia:

With the early and abrupt end to the Arreola-Garcia fight, some nobodies got some airtime and one of them (Ramos) became a somebody. It sure would have been nice if Caleb Truax or Willshaun Boxley had been the lucky sun of a gun, but it is what it is. See you in the co-main!

    Jargal -vs- Gil:

This is a replay of a bout from this afternoon. The producers are getting creative because a third-round kayo and a first-round kayo don’t fill much time. This bout ended with a second-round TKO when Gil quit. Jargal’s fighting style is a nightmare unto itself, but he sure is quick and fast and strong.

    Kolle -vs- Williams:

    Prefight:

Nick Charles says it’s easier to get good sparring in Alaska than in Minnesota. I don’t like the guy. ‘Nuff said.

    Round 1:

Williams jumps right in with those long-armed jabs. No serious punches landed to 2:42. Williams is clearly faster. Kolle misses with a meaningful hook. Lands a left, but feels a power shot from Williams. Kolle has his back to the ropes at 2:10, but gets out more or less intact. Lands a straight right at about 1:57. Kaos lands again with the left, but Williams gets in fast and hard with several hooks. A left to the head drops Kolle, who ends up in a heap under the ropes. Dazed, Kolle is unable to get out from under the bottom rope until the count of eight, and isn’t clear-headed and upright by the count of ten. It’s over.

    Conclusion:

It was a right hook to the body, right hook to the head, left hook to the temple that ended it. Williams is just world-class, what else can we say? Thank you, Andy, for putting it all out there. I look forward to seeing you in action again soon - just not too soon.
Arreola -vs- Garcia: Cris Arreola gives his hometown crowd the expected knockout win, and it’s a good thing it happened early because it’s no sure thing that Arreola could have gone dee…

You have the right perspective on this.

Just a stay busy fight at a weight he didn't have to kill himself making, and to give him some exposure to a general public who might never have heard of him.

It was a very impressive KO, but yeah people will go on about it for a while. Still I am in question as to what he will do when he gets down to 147 again & how he will perform.

Margarito is praying right now not getting schooled by Williams twice.

Probably better calling De La Hoya's name.

Yeah..now name one welterweight who can knock him out in a minute?

No one's claiming Williams is great off this performance. But it would be a solid performance for a middle, let alone a welterweight who does that to "stay busy." If your current favorite fighter moved up two divisions to "stay busy" - and was actively seeking to fight anybody and everybody - he'd be considered God.

Yeah it's Andy Kolle, but Andre Ward didn't put this guy out until the 6th and Paul moved up from 147 and KO'ed him in one round. His last two fights he's ended it in one round. Plus Kolle was out, he had no chance of making it back up.

Let's just see now if Marge steps up. I think he will, it will be a good fight, but P-Will is gonna beat him again.
