Toney vs. Thompson is an interesting matchup, and if it's added to the Pacman-DLH PPV, then I'll buy it for certain.

Toney is a Goosen fighter so I can't imagine him getting on a Top Rank/Golden Boy card.

Maybe he needs to beat a contender before he gets a title fight. He already lost to Peter and a fight with Wladimir Klitschko would be a joke.

Maybe they made a deal, doesn't make sense for them to put it on the same date as DLH-Pacquiao.

If Toney somehow manages to win against Thompson and gets another title shot, I would rather see him against Chagaev (if he ever makes his return) than any of the other title holders (Wlad, Peter/Vitali, Valuev).

It could turn out to be a very good contest between two skilled boxers.
Chagaev isn't too big for Toney.

Toney against Vitali, Wladimir or Valuev would be like watching a circus show.

Why would he need to "deserve" it?

I don't think I wanna watch another Thompson fight. I'll probably skip that one.
Toney has bigger fish to fry.

Personally I believe a fight is actually made when I hear it from the promoter or the TV network rather than the fighter himself.

Toney beats Thompson fairly easily IMO. I just didn't see anywhere near enough from Thompson against Wlad to suggest he has what you need to beat Toney, even at this stage. Toney UD.
