Which is why I don't question his resume. What I do question is his rating as a fighter, and have always felt him to be a bit overrated in terms of ability.

harshness on shane huh? i don't see it. he's a great fighter, an atg, and i feel he represented himself, and the sport very well over the years. he lost at the bigger weights that were clearly to big for him. he was a beast at the lighter weights imo and would give anyone a hella time.

Mosley is full of **** he fights for money just like everybody else. He has fought some good fights but I feel he is overrated because of good guy attitude and persona.

Mosley makes some interesting choices at times. His ego was so big that he couldn't accept the "short money" against De La Hoya because he had two wins over him. I give him credit though for giving Wright his big fight. To a lesser extent, Forrest, although I think part of that was because HBO was getting frustrated with his opposition post-DLH. Skipping 140 though and beating DLH after just 2 fights at 147 was a rather big gamble that paid off.

Pretty much all pro fighters fight for money. It's just a matter of balancing how important the money is along with ego and pride and wanting to be the best. If you're gonna get beat up for a living (with boxing's wonderful 401k plan of $0.00) and you're not trying to make a lot of money for you and your family, something's wrong with you.

I agree about people overrating him because of his nice guy persona. He seems to get more of a pass on the steroid thing than most fighters would because people don't want to believe that Shane would do such a thing intentionally. And people also overrate how "gracious" and "classy" he is in defeat, because they can't remember pre-2005.
