He fights for legacy so much that he not only deined floyd mayweather in 2006, but also antonio margarito in 2006. His fighting for legacy is fighting for whenever they get big so I can cash in.

Mosley's stint at 154 damaged his legacy more than bolstered it. This current run at 147 is just damage repair at best.

          Vernon Forrest 2x
          Winky Wright 2x
          DeLa Hoya 2x

          isn't a bad resume.
He was off for a little while and struggled some with David Estrada so he didn't want to fight Margarito then.

His resume isn't overrated in terms of fights (undoubtedly one of the best), but in terms of wins.

DeLa Hoya, Marquez, Leija were very good wins. Collazo wasn't a bad win.
I can't fault him for losing to Winky though.

Nonetheless his inability to win those rematches leaves questions as to his status.

To me it was the style of Winky that got to him. I never watched all of the two Vernon fights but it might have been a style problem there as well. The thing is he had enough determination to go through with re-matches, and despite losing he did better against bigger stronger natural middle weights.
