Since then hes improving and i still think the struggle against McCline was a fluke. We have not seen the full potential from Peter yet, hes still not in his prime. There were manny worse belt holders in the history of heavyweight boxing than Peter.
You're both wrong and both right. Peter is NOT even close to being "talented", but he's not bad, and IS improving every fight...............that is if you ignore the Jameel McCline fight. How do you think that Klitschko will act if he gets Peter hurt the way McCline did...??? I'll tell you.

He'll gobble him up like a cross between a shark (starving) and a tiger (ravenous) if you could imagine such a beast. Klitschko has one of the best finishing systems in boxing. He's tremendously accurate, rarely missing a punch of any sort.

Peter is not as powerful as his (very built up) reputation says. He knocked over a bunch of washed-up cripples, and, because he LOOKS fearsome, and is built like a beer barrel, it made verg good PR. But his chin doesn't match his appearance. In the Wladimir fight, Klitschko had strict instructions-which he always follows exactly- to punch at no more than 60%, so that, in case he missed, he wouldn't leave himself off balance, and open to a heavy counter (based on Peter's fearsome reputation).....Just in case.....

And.....everyone must have forgotten, the REAL reason for the Wladimir- Peter fight was that the Duva crowd were trumpeting arond that EVERYBODY was afraid of Peter, and Klitschko grabbed the chance to REHABILITATE his reputation (which was..NO CHIN..and NO STAMINA....Do you all REMEMBER????) and said he'd fight him. Which he did, and which he won so easily that it was a boxing lesson.

AND....everyone seemd to also forget that Klitschko knew all about Peter, since he'd had him as a sparring partner for a while, and knew that, EVERYTHING BEING EQUAL, he could box and fight rings around him....And he DID.

I'd have to believe that Vitaly K also knows him, and will allow for Peter's improvement, which is genuine.

Sam's camp is talking a lot of BS, I smell fear. They are already spooked out. Peter will gass himself in the first two rounds cause he'll fight on nerves and fear.

            Addendum to the above

And Peter hit Klitschko pretty solidly on the chin more than a few times in that fight, and Klitschko didn't even blink. Not bad for a "glass chin"??

And he specifically went 12 full, action-packed rounds, and at the end looked good enough to do another 5. Not bad for a guy with "poor stamina"??

And, although m,ethodical and restrained in his punching power, as I've said, he almost KD'd Peter in the 12th rd with a very casual left hook......remember???

Peter's biggest win is against an ancient and extremely shot Maskaev. Let's not even count Toney cause besides beating a shot Holy he's done nothing.

Absolutely correct, although I have to write this with my eyes almost shut, not an easy thing to do....but I don't want to have nightmares, and I don't mean "Nigerian" ones.

Sam Peter is like one of the worst belt holders out of all the eras of boxing, he has no skill and his punch isn't even that great since he couldn't even hurt mccline at all. No, what he hurt was a shot slow moving oleg maskaev. You think because Sam Peter easily disposed of a fighter as shot as Maskaev that you think Vitali will come in the fight shot to pieces moving much slower? HAHAHAHAHAHA, vitali could be 10 percent of the heavyweight he was before he retired and still ko peter, thats how embarrassingly weak the heavyweight division is right now.
sadly,,,,peter actually didnt dispose of maskeav easily. it was close and competitive until the stoppage and maskeav looked horribly slow and sloppy. I think peter has regressed since the wlad fight and vitali has a chance if his body doesnt fall apart which Im afraid it will at some point during the fight

I don't know that I agree. I think that Peter has improved, at least he looks more like a fighter, has better "moves". Before, he looked like the "fat man" who hadn't seen his feet for over 20 years, and could barely "bend over" to touch......his knees.

But now......his chin has been exposed by Jameel McCline, something we should have suspected when he was so staggered by that Wladimir 12th rd casual left hook, which seemed to have very little power on it, and went almost unnoticed....exceptby the analysts. They also said-more or less-that if Klitschko had wanted to, he could have ended it right there.

I believe that if Klitschko is even half of wgat he was before his enforced retirement, and hits Samuel hard on the chin, with some effect, he'll jump on him like a tiger and force a stoppage. But it depends on him being in battle-hardened trim, and with his always until now, rock-solid chin.
