there isnt going to be another significant draw in boxing for atleast a couple of years once oscar is gone..i mean you'll certainly still have some good fighters out there, who can sell decent tickets..but nowhere near the crowd oscar and tyson could draw..in my opinion kelly pavlik is a good fighter, but he wont ever be a big draw..simply because he doesnt really appeal to many people..also i think competition around 160-170 is too tough for him with fighters like kessler, and abraham..and thats if he even gets passed hopkins..miguel cotto probably has the best chance of being the next big draw(if he can rebound from the loss)

I would have said Floyd but he's out of the picture at this time. He had the smile but he was more a of a guy that you wanted to see get punked rather than see win, my opinion. He would take on the role of guy you love to hate, which would translate to sales.

Does anyone think that a Brit or any other European can be a star in the states? NAZ and Hatton made a splash but fizzled.
Naz did it by choice. He could have carried on at 28. I don't think it is important to have a big star in USa, as long as the sport continues to grow around the world. I think the USA will find another star, but if they don't the world is becoming a smaller place anyway. **** MMA, them bums will get exposed soon a dn will disappear like kickboxing. We don't need brawlers like Pavlik to bring over their fans. Someone like Floyd but with a bit of charisma will do the trick. If Floyd was latino he would have been huge. Another latino star will be on its way soon.

                I think..

If Kirkand is the REAL deal, he could become one with his exciting style and stay undefeated and rule 154, possibly 160, or even 147 if he can come down ?

Cotto if he bounces back and builds a bigger fanbase and becomes another Tito-type fan favorite.

Katsidis had a chance, but I think that's gone..

Theres really no sure-fire choice YET, we'll see.

Before u say who gives a ****, understand that mainstream appeal is necesary for the growth of the sport. The more appeal , the more boxing regains its position in American sports.
there's really no one out there with the kind of charisma that dlh has (charm) and tyson had (intimidation).

but if I had to guess I'd say its Pavlik cause HBO is promoting him pretty hard.

Cotto was the next HBO PPV King, until he met Margarito. HBO were in damage control after that fight.
